Sam was sat at his desk at home, looking over his homework. He sighed, his brain was too busy for homework. He slowly walked over to his bed and flopped on it before taking his phone out. He scrolled through a few apps, and set up a few others that he had on his old phone before clicking on Netflix. He was about to click on his go to show to relax, The Big Bang Theory when he saw a familiar name pop up in the suggested, Gordie's Journey.

"It was listening!!" Teto screamed

"what if that weird boy mentions weird sex toys around you?? It'll show up in recommend purchases and Mr and Mrs Birch will thing your a freak!!" Another one screamed

"Well.. I was kinda interested in it.. the show not the weird toys." Sam said, his finger hovering over it

"Plus that feral kid did seem to want to talk about it to someone" Benji was sat at the end of his bed, cleaning his nails

"Nick said he's a good guy once you get to know him.. fine. I'll try to be his friend" Sam clicked on the show.

About two episodes in Sam was actually starting to enjoy the show, he found it a little cringy at times but he found any show that had sex in it a bit cringy. He looked at the time and he'd been there for an hour!

"Damn.. I should probably get my homework done" he walked over to his desk but kept the show playing. He stared at his math homework "fuck it's fractions.."

"The first couple are easy like what's a quarter of four" Benji sat on the desk

Sam stared at the paper blankly "uh.."

Benji sat for a while, watching his kid struggle before standing up. Sam put his head in his hands, even his hormone monster thinks he's dumb. Benji points at the four pens on the desk "ok, so this is four" Sam nodded along, Benji smiled "ok, so a quarter is a half of a half.." he took away two pens "half of four is..."

"...two" Sam was ignoring the annoying yellow mosquito screaming on his shoulder

"Good" Benji took away one pen "and half of two is.."

"One" Sam cocked his head a little

"So a quarter of four is...." Benji points at the lone pen

"One?" Sam asked, putting all the pens back where they should be

Benji ruffled his hair "yep.. they really need to learn that you can't really do word exercises" Sam nods, writing down the answer

"I think I finished the show too" he smiled, looking at the Netflix home screen "it was pretty good"

"Apart from that sex scene you skipped" Benji crossed his arms

"I watched all the other ones.. I just don't really like watching.. that"

"Why? It's hot! The plot lines, the background music, someone getting fuckin railed-"

"Looks like I'm out of water- need to get more!" Sam interrupted, standing up holding his water bottle

"Fine kid, I'll just stay here" Benji said putting Gordie's Journey back on and skipping to the scene Sam didn't watch

Sam rolled his eyes and walked onto the hallway where he saw Andrew slam Nicks door and stomp downstairs, Sam followed him down

"Shit my pants why don't you shit your pants fucking idiot" he grumbled

"Something wrong Andrew?" Elliot asked, wearing his cooking apron, Sam was still halfway down the stairs

"Oh hay Dr Birch, I hate to tell you this but your son is obsessed with his stupid phone!" Andrew complained, crossing his arms

"Hm.. wonder where he gets that from" Elliott said snarkily, Diane cheered about how many points she got. Sam was now right next to Andrew

"Dr Birch this may sound crazy but.. was there a time before cellphones?" Andrew asked, sounding defeated

Sam cocked his head "really? Have you had a phone your whole life or something? Of course there was"

"Oh Andrew it was glorious! There was no status updates or apps, and the only Kardashian we knew was a lawyer with a skunk hairdo" Elliott smiled, reminiscing

"Hold on, no status updates? How did you know what was going on with your friends?" Andrew asked, confused

"Really?" Sam asked, genuinely confused about how someone couldn't know this

"We would all get together at dinner parties and eat sun dried tomatoes and play trivial pursuit until northern exposure came on" Elliot explained

"Wow.. I don't what any of those things are" Andrew shrugged, making Sam roll his eyes "but a dinner party sounds delightful! That's just what my friends need!"

Elliot put his hand on Sam's shoulder "oh idea! We should throw one here! Judd knows some dynamite caterers"

"Yes, let's do it! I can bring the napkin rings I made in Jewish camp" Andrew smiled

"I'm good at seating arrangements" Sam smiled

Elliot patted Sam's back "perfect!"
