It was a parky Christmas Eve once again. The corridor of the Tokyo Jujutsu High was cold and dark. Most of the students and teachers went on winter vacation. The office room of Nanami was also cold, despite the fire that burnt in the fireplace. Nanami was reading a book sitting on an armchair in front of it.

He preferred to stay away from all the fuss in the school. He didn't really like Christmas, and it was not like anyone enjoyed his presence anyway, he thought.

He turned his head when he heard something shove into his office from underneath the door. Closing the book, he raised up and sighed once he saw another Christmas card on the floor.

"We are in the same place; why send cards?"

The cards were all the same; lots of glitters that stuck to literally anything, and 'Merry Christmas and a happy new year!' already printed on the inside so you'd just have to add your name—disgusting!

Regardless of that, Nanami still opened it. A small frown creased his face once he saw there wasn't only a name written in it, but also a small message.

'Dear Kento,' it said.
'Merry Christmas and a happy new year! Can you come to my office for a cup of coffee? I'd really appreciate it. I hope to see you in the evening. – Y/N.'

Nanami groaned in frustration. He had hoped for a quiet night, alone. But now he couldn't send Y/N a letter that he couldn't come; that would be rude. Or neither could he go to her office to tell her that he couldn't come to her office; that would be ridiculous!

So, with a sigh, he threw the card on the pile of cards he had received before and extinguished the fire in the fireplace before leaving his office.

After a few knocks, the door of Y/N's office was opened.

"Oh, Kento! Hi!" Y/N greeted him with a warm smile. "I was waiting for you. Come in." She stepped aside so Nanami could pass her.

In contrast to his own office, hers was warm and cosy, which didn't surprise him at all. The office was filled with multiple coloured decorations, and Nanami could barely hide a small snort.

'After all, it's Y/N's office...' he thought to himself.

Y/N closed the door behind him and gently laid her hand on his shoulder. "Please, sit down. I'll be right back with the coffee."

Nanami awkwardly sat down on a comfy armchair in front of the fireplace, comparable to the one he had in his own office. He had never been this long in Y/N's office before and also had no idea why she suddenly wanted him to.

Y/N soon came back holding a tray full of some Christmas cookies, two cups filled with steaming coffee, and Nanami's favourite chocolate bun. She gave one of the cups to Nanami before sitting down in the armchair next to him.

"Thank you for coming, Kento," she said with a comforting smile.

Nanami looked up at her. "Why did you want me to?"

Y/N smiled slightly. "It's Christmas!"

With a huff, he looked down at his cup. "Yes, I noticed that. But I know just as well as you that I'm not great company."

Y/N took a sip from her coffee and looked at him with a slight frown. "Not great company?" she asked, pretending not to know what he meant. But of course, she knew.

She knew that people preferred to stay away from Nanami, and he was fully aware of that. Still, he made it seem like he didn't care.

"Oh please, Y/N," Nanami sighed, looking back at her. "Nobody likes to be around me, and I don't blame them for it. I don't mind, really. So why did you invite me?"
