As time passed,Panda's birthday got near and god,was she excited, she would go on and on and on about it: it'll be a pyjama party at her house so that can only mean one thing,we'll all get trashed, even though it's girl only so it's just me,Eff,Katie,Emily and Naomi I think we'll manage to do something.
It's the day before the birthday and me and Effy had decided to hang out with Panda in the evening and we would sleep at Effy's.
So around 5 i get ready,I pack a bag for the night with just the necessary and just go out,I'll take it later.Since I'm early, and I don't know what to do,I grab my skate wanting to go to the skate park. But just as I'm about to open the door I hear my mum
(outfit,maybe forget those shoes)
"Astrid" My mum calls me
"Susan?"
"Where do you think you're going?"
"Skating"
"Young lady you are hanging out too much, aren't you?"
"What is that supposed to mean? Just now that I start having a fucking life it's not okay?" Obviously mum doesn't know that I've "had a life" since I was thirteen, but oh well
"You must think I'm stupid then,I know what you do with those junkie friends of yours" she screams
"So what?I'm sorry I don't have the shitty life you want me to have just because you're frustrated, god"
"Yeah just skate around, smoke marijuana and get high with your good-for-nothing friends"
After that I go out and slam the door behind me,that crossed the line, she doesn't even bother knowing my friendsI skate to the park and try some tricks once I get there, but I got too many things in my mind I keep fucking them up.
As I fall once again and my arm starts bleeding I hear a familiar voice
"Trish,are you okay?"
It's Freds, wearing his usual fedora hat and baggy clothes
"Hey Freddie,well I've been better"
"Yeah I figured"
He helps me get up
"I just got here and saw you fall...so erm I figured..."he continues trailing off
"Yeah uhm thanks" I say a bit embarrassed that he saw me fall.Today's simply not it,I should just go home at this point.
"Want a spliff?" Freds asks suddenly as I'm about to go,I turn around, smirking
"Well you know how to conquer me,don't you?Come on let's get somewhere else"
We skate around and talk until we get to a place I knew with a nice view,on a hill.We sit in a bench and pass each other the joint
"...so when I was about to go out my mum jumps out of nowhere and starts blabbering the same shit as always "Oh Trish you only smoke and skate and hang out,it's the only thing you're good at" and I couldn't handle it so I stormed out" I rant
"Are your mother and my father the same person? That's what I always have to hear too, my sister is always the favorite"
"Ohh Karen,uh now let me ask you something: is it possible that I saw her in one of those talent shitty competition on telly?"
"God,you saw that? That's embarrassing, that program could be called "how many bloody creeps can you turn on dancing?"and what pisses me off more is that she uses our mother's death to get simpathy"
"Oh...that's...that's awful" I say frowning a bit shocked,I didn't know his mother died
"Worse thing:my father doesn't do anything about it,it seems normal to him and it's impossible to argue with him"
"Yeah I imagine. When my dad was around we would always fight and I wasn't even like this yet, luckily I haven't heard of him or it would only be worse"
"So you just live with your mum?"
"Yeah and sometimes it's ok,sometimes she sleeps all day or I don't see her much because of her work and..."
I'm interrupted by my phone ringing,it's Effy
"Shit" I say before answering
"Hello?"
"Oi where are you?"
"Uhm I'm sorry it got late,I'll get there as soon as I can"
"Yeah don't you dare ditch us,we're waiting at mine"
"Okay,see ya there"
I hang up
"Uh sorry but I've gotta go,I had plans with Effy and Panda and I didn't realize how late it was but the mistress called so..."
"Oh,sure,we should do this more often though"
"Totally"I say as I start skating
