I spent most of the day at Spencer's apartment. I had him revise my college essay, and we went over a few more things regarding my studying. After that, we were free to goof off. We mostly spent the day like we typically did, on the couch, watching Supernatural while he rambled, and I intently listened. I was sat beside him, leaning on him with a blanket wrapped around our shoulders. His arm rested around my shoulder, and my head was rested on his.
"Hey, there's a big festival tomorrow, we should go."
"You want to go to a festival?"
"I want to go to a festival, with you." I felt my heart flutter. I swear this man walked straight our of a book. He was too perfect.
"Yeah, I'd love to go." I meant it too. I was excited. I loved spending time with him. I was determined to have the perfect night. The drive to the festival was filled with laughter. He drove, keeping one hand on my thigh the entire time. The drive was about 30 minutes, but it felt like 5. Once we got there, he parked the car, and walked around the car, opening my door for me, and grabbing my hand as I got out of the car. He intertwined our fingers, and gave my hand a small squeeze before we went into the festival area. The lights were colorful and bright. He won one of those games where you guess how many cheese puffs are in a jar. He sat there and calculated the answer. I pinched his cheeks and grinned.
"Your brain is beautiful." I said half jokingly. I was carrying the large jar of exactly 2,584 cheese puffs.
"You're beautiful." He pressed a kiss to my cheek. We walked around a little longer, occasionally stopping to play a game, or buy something. I won a ring toss game, and won a silver tiara with pink fuzz, and pink gems on it. I placed it on Spencer's head, and pulled out my phone. I took a picture of the two of us. He was smiling and making a peace sign, and I was kissing him on the cheek. I knew in that moment that I was going to get it printed, and toss it in the back of my phone.
We were at the festival for about two hours. We came back with not only a large jar of cheese puffs, and a tiara, but also a large stuffed shark, and wide smiles. We spent the rest of the night, curled up in his bed. He was sat up, leaning against the head of the bed. My legs were thrown across his, and I was leaning up against him. He was reading his favorite poems to me, and once he finished, I did hesitate to remind him how much I adore him.
" You're so perfect. I could stay like this forever."
"You don't have to flatter me love."
"I'm just being honest."
"You're being biased." He gently brushed his fingers through my hair.
"Smart, respectful, loving, caring, handsome the list just goes on. You only have one flaw."
"I beg to differ, there are way moree than one, but humor me. What's the flaw?"
"You're a little too perfect." I poke his cheek, teasingly making sure he's real. He cautiously grabbed my arm, and placed a soft kiss on my palm. He moved the book from the bed, to the night stand, and readjusted so that he was now holding me. His arm was wrapped around me, and my head was resting on his chest.
"You know what?"
"What?"
"You always smell like vanilla." He placed another soft kiss, this time on my cheek. I ran my hand through his hair, leaning in to hug him tightly. "Have I told you how much I love you today?"
"Yeah, but I guess you could tell me again for good measure." I said teasingly. He grinned, and cupped my face with his free hand.
"I love you more than words can describe." He paused and pressed a kiss on my forehead. "You're my everything." He placed another kiss on the tip of my nose. "My favorite person." Another kiss on my cheek. "My heart and soul." Another kiss for my other cheek. "Mine." He finally kissed me firmly on the lips.
"Spence." My tone was endearing and loving. "You mean so much to me. I couldn't ask for a better boyfriend. I love you so much."
"Thats not nearly enough to describe my love for you. I have to settle for words, but there is truly no language or phrase that could even compare to the love I feel for you."
"I never want this to end. I never want us to end." I clung to him tightly.
"Good, because you're stuck with me forever."
"I love you so much." I truly didn't know what else to say. I only felt genuine love.
"I love you too. I'll spend everyday loving you, even when we're old and grey."
We stayed like that in silence for a little bit, and I felt myself slowly dozing off. My eyes were shut, and I was comfortably relaxing. I felt Spencer's eyes on me, but I didn't open mine. "Even when you're sleeping you're beautiful." I felt him carefully brush away a strand of my hair. "Sometimes when I look at you, my brain just goes blank. That's never happend to me before. When I look at you, I forget the bad things in my life. I don't forget things. I never have, but you've changed my entire life. You make everything better. You make me better. I'll never let anyone hurt you. I promise you that I will always keep you safe." I couldn't force back my smile anymore, so I gave in and opened my eyes. "Baby, I knew you were awake less than halfway through the first sentence. You didn't have to try to hide the smile."
"You did not."
"Your breathing was too shallow, and I saw the corners of your mouth tug upwards."
"Okay fine. You're such a profiler." I reached over, and turned off the small lamp. "I need real sleep now." I curled up in bed, and he wrapped his arms around me. I slowly drifted off as I gently rubbed his arms.I woke up early that morning. Earlier than necessary. There was still another hour before either of us had to get up and get ready for work. I watched out the window as the snow fell gently on the ground. It was calming. I carefully turned over facing Spencer. He was so beautiful. Looking at him was like walking through a field of flowers near a lake as a quiet storm rolled in. I watched his chest rise and fall in a calm manor. He quietly murmered something is his sleep, and I gently brushed his messy hair out of his face. He began to stir awake.
"Goodmorning love." I smiled brightly at him.
"Good morning." He said quietly. His voice was groggy. I began to slowly place kisses all over his face, and his grin grew wide as he hid his face in the pillow. I leaned in closely, now kissing the small part of his cheek that was covered by the pillow. He let out a few laughs that were muffled by the pillow.
"Love?" He moved his face away from the pillow, and I began kissing his entire face again.
"Hm?"
"I'm trying to talk to you, and you keep kissing me." He said playfully.
"I like kissing you. I'm going to kiss you forever." I continued the assault on his face.
"I like talking." He let out a laugh as he said so.
"Then talk. I'm listening."
"I can't think when you're kissing me like this."
"Then don't. You already think way too much for one person's own good." He smiled at me, and I just laid beside him peacefully. He ran his hand up a down my back.
"You just love driving me crazy, don't you?"
"I guess it can be entertaining." I say, faking arrogance.
"Mmmm, you guess?"
"I guess." I giggled, and stopped the kissing assault. He continued gently rubbing my back, soothing me. I could lay here all day, not speaking, not moving, and I would still be content. All I needed was him. Sadly, reality had quickly set in. Both our phones buzzed, and we both knew exactly why.
