"Christmas is in two weeks, what are you doing?" I asked, savoring a bite of the pasta. It was genuinely the best pasta I had ever had. Spencer even washed all the dishes he used to make the pasta.
"I don't really do anything for Christmas. I'm visiting my mom next week for an early Christmas celebration, but my family has never really been big on Christmas."
"What!? You're not doing anything for Christmas!?" I asked him, utterly shocked.
"It's not a big deal, I'm not some lonely little kid." He said with a small laugh.
"You're spending Christmas with me. You have to." He let out another small laugh.
"Mylah, come on. I'm not going to invade your Christmas."
"No, it's not invading. It'll be so much fun. You can spend the night here, and we can wear corny pajamas, and open presents together, and we always have a Christmas dinner. Pleeeaaassseee?" I asked, desperate for him to say yes.
     "Mylah." He laughed.
"Please, please, please. Come on, you already know my dad, and he loves you. You and Jack are going to get along so well, he loves random facts, and you're full of them. Most importantly, I love you, and I want you to be there." His smile was wide, and it made my entire world light up.
     "Are you sure?"
"Yes, I'm one hundred percent sure."
     "Okay, I'll go."
"Yes!" I exclaimed, beyond excited. I was spending my favorite holiday, with my favorite people.
"You're so cute sometimes." I smiled before I pushed my plate forward.
"I ate so much pasta, I might sleep until Christmas." He laughed at my joke. I grabbed our plates, and emptied them, washing off the plates.
"Hey, I'm supposed to be doing that." He said, mock offended.
     "No, I get it. It's becuase I'm a woman." I say with a sigh.
"Yeah, you're right. When you're done you can get ne that sandwich. I'm going to go put my shoes on the coffee table." We both laughed as he dried the last few dishes and put them away. My phone rang, and I knew that it was my dad, calling becuase he was on his way home.
     "On your way home?"
"Yeah, I'll be there in about five minutes. Jack is very excited to tell you about his soccer game."
"I'm excited to hear about it."
     "Love you, bye."
"Love you too, bye." He hung up the phone, and I finished cleaning up the kitchen. Spencer cleared his throat before speaking up.
     "I better get going."
"No, stay." I said, wrapping my arms around him. He wrapped one arm around my back, and the other cradled my head against him.
"You know how awkward that's going to be? I'm at my bosses house, kissing his daughter, who's also my coworker."
"Come on Spence, he loves you. He told me a few days ago that you're the best boyfriend I've ever had, and the only one he could ever approve of."
"Really?" He asked, his face twisting in surprise.
"Yeah, come on, stay. You can meet Jack before Christmas."
"Why do I always cave when I'm with you? Why can't I say no?"
"Becuase you love me." I say with a grin.
We were in my room, watching a horror movie when my dad got home. I walked to the living room to greet them. Jack ran up to me excitedly.
"Mylah, I did really good! I was running so fast!"
"Wow buddy, good job!" I wrapped my arms around him in a hug, which he imidiately returned. My dad spoke up next.
"Pasta? I guess the pizza rolls weren't yelling your name loud enough." He joked, looking at the leftover pasta in a bowl.
     "Yeah, pasta was the move."
"It smells really good. Mind 8f I try a bite?"
"Thanks." I had him a fork, so he can taste the pasta. Once he takes a bite, he looks beyond pleased.
"Tell Reid thar Rossi would be very proud of this. It's very good." He said with a straight face.
"What? How did you even know?"
"I always know. Reid? You can come out now." He reluctantly came out of my room, a sheepish smile on his face. "Reid, it's not awkward for you to be over here. I'm happy that you're around, becuase it makes Mylah happy. You're always welcome over here, but you don't have to hide out."
"You're right. I'm sorry, thank you Hotch." I watched as my dad gave Spencer a small smile, and I knew this was the best time to mention Christmas.
"I actually just invited Spencer to Christmas dinner with us. He said ue was going to be alone, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to add an extra plate to the table."
"I'm looking forward to it." He gave the two of us a curt nod, and went to put Jack's bag in his bedroom. Jack ran back over to me as if he couldn't wait to finish telling me about his game, but when he saw Spencer, his face dropped. He looked enraged, angry in a way I have never seen in my life.
"Mylah." His voice was filled with betrayal and rage.
     "What?"
"That better not be Jared. I'll kill him."
I smiled softly. It was nice to know how much Jack cared about me. "No, this is Spencer. We like Spencer." His expression softened, and Spencer gave Jack a small wave. Jack returned the way, and introduced himself. They began talking about useless facts, things you'd never need to know, yet were interesting. I didn't care what they were talking about, they were getting along. That's what I cared about.
We both ended up deciding to go to his place. It was more convenient, becuase we didn't have to worry about waking Jack or my dad up. Realistically, he had the most comfortable couch in the world, and I wanted to lay with him and watch Supernatural. It became our thing. I went to my dad's room, letting him know where Inwas going so he didn't worry.
"Okay, have fun. Be safe, it's supposed to snow alot tonight."
"Oh, I meant to ask you. Who's Jamie?"
He looked at me in confusion. "Jamie?"
     "The password for the alarm. J A M Y."
His expression went from confused, to almost a small smile. "Jamy, is the most important thing to me in the entire world." I still didn't understand, I gave him a look of confusion. "JA for Jack, and MY for Mylah."
"You big softie." I say jokingly, placing a kiss to his cheek. "I'll see you in the morning. Love you, be safe."
"Love you, you be safe as well."
Spencer and I ended up baking cookies while he rambled. I loved listening to him talk. His voice put my soul at ease. When he was talking, or holding me, I couldn't worry about anything. Not even if I wanted to.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" He asked.
"I could listen to you talk all day for the rest of my life."
"I'm so painfully in love with you Mylah. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I mean it." I smiled brightly. How could one person consume so much of my love? I placed a soft kiss to his lips.
"Are you premarital touching my hand right now?" I joked, pulling my hand away from his.
"What can I say, I'm a womanizer." He joked back, grinning at me as he leaned in for another kiss. The timer went off, and without removing his lips from mine, he turned the oven nob, turning it off. I smiled as I pulled away. I grabbed the oven mitt, and pulled the tray out, revealing freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. The smell flooded my nose, making my mouth water. Spencer wrapped his arms around me, placing his head in the crook of my neck, and I could feel his smile. I placed my hand in his hair, running my fingers through it in a calming manner.
We both managed to eat a single cookie before his phone buzzed, and he gave me a knowing look. We had another case. I groaned in annoyance, and stuffed another cookie in my mouth before grabbing my shoes.
I sat at the round table, placing my head down on it. "This unsub hates me. He hates me so much." I could feel the eyes on me. Spencer spoke up.
"We just made cookies, and they just got out of the oven."
"It was my turn to pick the movie too, and it's a Friday night, come on."
Jennifer's voice spoke up next. "Yeah, I wish the serial killers were a little more sensitive to our weekends off as well." I lifted my head up and sighed, waiting for Penelope to arrive, so she could give us the case details. All I knew, is that it involved a casino. I heard my dad talking about poker.
