Andy had always been a solitary young man, without friends and living in isolation. This changed when Alex came along and befriended him. As adolescence set in, Andy was overwhelmed with emotions and realized that Alex was more than a friend; he was his crush. Yet, he never found the opportunity to reveal his feelings, as attempts to speak his truth were always interrupted by the presence of friends and family. Alex sensed Andy's affection but remained uncertain of its depth. Struggling with his emotions and the concept of freedom, Andy chose to distance himself from Alex to comprehend his true feelings.
Alex is always at home studying and listening to his favorite songs from his Spotify playlist. On the table in his room, he sees a gift he received from his friend Andy. He remembers all the good times they spent together as friends. However, Alex becomes suspicious because Andy has decided to walk away. So, he looks for his mother, Sara, and she says: "Son, I don't know, but I wanted to know, because he's your best friend, isn't he?" Alex says yes and says he's going to Andy's house later to find out what's going on, as he might need a friend to talk to. His mother, Sara, agrees and asks him to tell her everything later. Alex assures him he will tell.
Alex went to his friend Andy's house, and his mother, Lari, greeted him: "Hi, Alex, friend!" Alex asked where Andy was, and she replied that he was in the bedroom. With permission, Alex entered and found Andy sitting on the bed, reading a book. "Good afternoon, friend, how are you?" Alex asked. "Nothing, just reading," Andy replied, but then confessed: "I like you, friend, and before you say anything, I like you and I don't want to suffer by repressing my feelings." Alex, surprised, said he needed time to think. Andy expressed that he didn't want to lose Alex's friendship because of Alex's feelings, but admitted that he would always love him, even if Alex didn't want to hear what his heart was saying.
Alex arrives home and passes by his mother, Sara, who asks if he is okay. He says no and asks if she knows what's up with Andy. Sara says no, but she suspects Andy is in love with him. She reveals that she already knew and questions why Alex never told her. Sara explains that sometimes it is necessary to hear it from the person themselves. Alex says that he only sees Andy as a friend and nothing more, while his mother comments that it is normal for Andy to feel this way and that people sometimes confuse emotions with freedom. She notes that Andy is very sentimental and advises Alex to be honest with his feelings and to respect Andy's, even if he tries to win her heart. Sara remembers that they are both young and that their paths separated, and states that Andy truly loves him. Alex acknowledges that he likes Andy, but that love is something else entirely, and anticipates that they will break up and see what happens in three years. Sara agrees with her son.
