Chapter 14: New year

THE MONTH OF DECEMBER has come—the month we became officially in a relationship. And again, the bittersweet reality hits me hard. Oo nga pala, tapos na kami. She already has a family and a son while me... I'm still here, wondering why it happened to me.

"Uhm, Lucas?"

"Earth to Lucas Cain! Yoho!"

"Oh, sorry," I immediately said when I came back in reality. "What is it again?"

I winced when my notification rang. Sighing deeply, I reached into my pocket to get my phone. My lips parted when I saw who was calling—it was her. Anong kailangan niya?

My brows arched. "Wait, why? What happened?"

["N-nasa park ako, Yno is missing. I-I don't know what to do, Luke. Vance is not answering his phone."] She mumbled. She seemed ready to tear up based on the heavy breathing I heard.

The dressing room door opened just as I was ready to speak and my designer greeted me, with a solemn expression. "At last you're here—"

["Please... Luke..."]
