Excitement for the Yule Ball flourished throughout the school halls as students buzzed with anticipation. Professor Slughorn's Potions class was about to begin, and Farrah felt her nerves kick in early. She glanced at the empty seat beside her, knowing that Draco Malfoy, her potions partner for the rest of the year, would be arriving shortly.

In the moments before the bell rang, Cho waved enthusiastically at Farrah from the doorway of her own classroom next door. Farrah managed a smile and a small wave back, her mind already racing with thoughts of the upcoming ball.

As the bell chimed, signaling the start of class, Draco strolled into the potions classroom with a grin that was both quiet and playful.

"Morning, Chutney," he greeted her casually, taking his seat beside her with an air of relaxed confidence.

Farrah couldn't help but smile back, feeling a mix of nerves and amusement at his demeanor. "Morning, Draco," she replied, her voice tinged with a hint of amusement. She glanced around the room, noticing the curious glances from their classmates.

Draco leaned closer, his voice low as he whispered, "Excited about tonight?"

She nodded, trying to keep her focus on the brewing instructions Professor Slughorn was outlining on the board. "Nervous, actually. This is all new to me."

Draco raised an eyebrow. "First Yule Ball?"

Farrah nodded again, stirring the potion slowly as instructed. "Yeah. I didn't think I'd be going until recently."

He smirked slightly, his gray eyes flickering with a hint of mischief. "Well, you'll do fine. Just remember to breathe."

Throughout the class, Draco and Farrah worked together smoothly, their partnership in potions proving surprisingly efficient. Between measuring ingredients and carefully following the instructions, they exchanged occasional banter and shared tips on achieving the perfect potion consistency.

As the class drew to a close, Professor Slughorn commended their progress. "Excellent work, Mr. Malfoy and Miss Chutney. Your potion is coming along splendidly."

Draco nodded in acknowledgment, flashing Farrah a small smile of satisfaction. "See? Told you we'd make a good team."

Farrah chuckled softly, a warmth spreading through her at his compliment. "Yeah, we're not bad."

After gathering their belongings, Draco walked with Farrah out of the classroom, the hallway bustling with students discussing their plans for the evening. Cho appeared beside them, her eyes bright with curiosity.

"So, how was potions?" Cho asked eagerly, her gaze flickering between Farrah and Draco.

Draco glanced at Farrah before answering, "Fine. We managed not to blow anything up."

Cho laughed, linking arms with Farrah. "That's good to hear. So, any last-minute preparations for tonight?"

Farrah glanced at Draco, feeling a flicker of nerves and excitement. "Just getting ready, I guess."

Draco nodded, his expression thoughtful. "Same here. It's going to be an interesting night."

As they parted ways to prepare for the evening, Farrah found herself thinking about Draco's words. The Yule Ball was indeed shaping up to be an intriguing experience—one she was both nervous and eager to embrace.

At lunchtime, the Great Hall buzzed with excitement as students discussed their plans for the upcoming Yule Ball. Farrah sat at the Ravenclaw table, her thoughts divided between anticipation and lingering anxiety. She picked at her food, trying to ignore the curious glances from her classmates.
