'Stop, Tae,' Hoseok's voice was firm, cutting through Taehyung's angry tirade. 'You will stay.'

Taehyung spun around, his brow furrowing in surprise. He hadn't expected any resistance, not from his gentle older brother. Hoseok, with an uncharacteristic intensity, stepped forward and cupped Taehyung's face, his thumb gently tracing the line of his jaw.

'I'm sorry Tae... I didn't asked before... but...Are you...alright?' Hoseok's voice was low, laced with concern. 'Did something happen? Did anyone... hurt you?'

Taehyung, taken aback by the sudden tenderness, mumbled a curt, 'I'm fine.' He shifted away, his eyes darting towards the doorway. He knew he wasn't fooling Hoseok, but he wouldn't admit it.

Hoseok's gaze shifted, piercing through Taehyung, landing on a figure standing silently behind him. Jungkook was watching Taehyung with an unreadable expression, his eyes cold and distant.

Hoseok's phone buzzed, breaking the tense silence. He pulled it out, a sigh escaping his lips. 'I...I'm sorry ... but, I... need to take this. And.. You stay here, Tae,' he instructed, his voice a touch weary. He walked away, leaving Taehyung and Jungkook alone in the silent hallway.

The air crackled with unspoken tension. Taehyng stole a glance at Jungkook, his eyes searching for something, anything, but the steely gaze remained fixed upon him.

'You owe me one, Kim Taehyung,' Jungkook finally spoke, his voice low and chilling.

Taehyung lightly scoffed, 'I don't owe you anything... You just...happened to be in the right place... at the right time.'

Jungkook's lips twitched in a humourless smile. 'Right place at the right time? Or was it... the right person?' he asked, his eyes boring into Taehyung's. 'Because I'm pretty sure, I was the only one who dared to intervene.'

Taehyung opened his mouth to retort, but the words died on his tongue. He knew Jungkook was right. He was the only one who hadn't hesitated to stand up to his attacker. And that fact, strangely, made him feel... vulnerable.

The silence in the room was heavy, thick enough to choke on. Taehyung, restless under Jungkook's unwavering gaze, finally cracked. 'I... I need to use the washroom,' he said, his voice a touch too high-pitched.

Jungkook, stone-faced, merely gestured towards the stairs leading to the upper floor. 'Upstairs,' he said, his voice flat and emotionless.

Taehyung, bristling with annoyance, muttered a sarcastic 'Thanks' under his breath and stomped towards the stairs. He fumed silently, cursing Jungkook's icy demeanor. The man was a master of making him feel like a fly trapped in a spider web.

He tripped on the bottom step, a curse escaping his lips. As he turned, prepared to unleash a torrent of complaints on Jungkook, he saw it - a suitcase lying open on the landing.

The sight sent a shiver down his spine. The suitcase was filled with sticky notes, an endless sea of them covering the inside. Each one was filled with scrawled handwriting, a detailed plan meticulously laid out. In the middle, a single photograph lay nestled amidst the notes. It was a picture of Hoseok, his older brother, and Yoongi, his ex-boyfriend, and now, Hoseok's husband.

His heart hammered in his chest, a wave of cold fear washing over him. The sudden shift in the air, the chilling aura emanating from behind him, confirmed his worst fears.

Turning slowly, his eyes met Jungkook's. His usual stoic expression was replaced with a chilling intensity. The silence was broken by Taehyung's shaky breath, a sound lost in the crushing weight of Jungkook's gaze.

'W...wha..what's th-...' he whispered, his voice barely audible.

Jungkook didn't reply. He simply stared, his eyes fixed on Taehyung, and in that gaze, Taehyung saw not just anger, but something darker, something that sent a shiver of dread down his spine.
