The Day Before

This was it, we were on our way there. We wanted to show early, the snow was falling today and that meant the field would be as full as my vision. Nothing new has happened, but I am watching for it. Heidi and Demetri are staying, they are to watch over Elizabeth and keep the castle intact. Only a few other guards are there, but it will be safe. Elizabeth hasn't shown any old aging and I can sense that she won't but we don't wanna get our hopes up. I've tried getting ahold of Rose, messaging her that I don't want her to get hurt and I promise I won't hurt her. I know that tells her I will be there, but I think they assumed I would be. 

I was wearing my tiara with the crest on it and the same cloak as the Queens and Kings. I knew that would show that there was a new member of the royal guard, I knew it would catch their attention. They would be looking for me in the crowd of guards, but I would keep my head down. I had asked to do the talking, only having Mom speak when necessary. They agreed because they knew I was close with some of them and it might have more of an effect on them, especially when they found out I'd been the princess the whole time.

We stood out in the woods the whole time, building a fire for light but we were watching our surroundings. We didn't trust where we were, who knew if someone was going to come mess with us? It would be a death trap, but it could be a diversion. I didn't think they were that stupid, but at this point, you never know. My Moms kept me close, I knew they didn't want me getting hurt that was why I wasn't a guard, I was the princess. I wasn't supposed to do the dirty work, but that should also apply to them then. They didn't see it the way I did, but that was cause I was their baby. I knew they were still debating sending me off, but it wouldn't work. 

"Tomorrow could be the last day for some of us, but if you die then you die with honor. Your mission if a fight breaks out is save the Queens. They are your main concern, do not worry about me. I know they told you differently, but I can fly, I can change into an animal they cannot. I will be fine, you will protect them. Do you understand?" They all nodded, my Moms tried protesting but I shook my head at them. I looked at my Moms and stood up from the log we were sitting on, "I will be back, no one follow me. I will know if you do." I walked off and changed into an owl, flying off through the forest. I was going to check around everywhere before I went to their house, in case they had the same idea. I heard talking and saw the smoke from a fire, it sounded like they were telling stories. I changed into a small fruit fly and went touching everyone, they all seemed to ignore me. Being in the animal forms, well insects, it masked my smell. 

Once that was everyone I flew away, watching them for a moment. I saw the child with Bella, I saw Leah watching over them with Edward. I wondered what was going on between them, but I left before I thought about it more. I turned back into an owl to be faster, flying back to them and landing on the log. Everyone looked at me and I changed back, "Ok, I got all their powers, I did it quickly." Something was telling me to go back, the hand that touched the last vampire tingled with a warmth I hadn't felt since I turned. I didn't know why, so I just ignored it. I knew it was dangerous to see them again, even if something was telling me to. I must ignore it, I couldn't fail the objective before it even started. Mama put her hand on my knee, she gave me a look like she knew something was wrong. "Nothing Mama, I'm ok. Just something happened, I'm not sure I could even explain it." She nodded and moved her hand away.

I got up and sat down in a small clearing in the trees, closing my eyes as I started meditating. I focused on the new powers, feeling it flow through my body. This was how I strengthened them, other than training with it. But I didn't really have time for that, so I would do what I could. I looked at my Mom and made her see home, she looked around and laughed. "I'm in the castle, it even smells like it." I took it away and smiled, I felt my hands heat up and saw fire on the tip of my fingers. "Damn, they have some powerful vampires with them." I put the fire out and felt electricity flow through my whole body but I focused it on my hands. I created a small ball of lightning and threw it in the air, watching it sparkle almost like a firework. I continued to focus on each power, learning them and testing them. It wasn't as much as I usually did, but I did what I could with where we were.

Once it was time we started running through the forest, I could see in the distance they were already there waiting for us. We stopped a few hundred feet away, I looked at them through my lashes. I saw them scanning us, "Sulpicia! This is all a misunderstanding!" I looked at Carlisle, "That is for us to decide, you remember the princess, don't you? She knows you all very well!" I looked up as I dropped the hood, my tiara showing and I looked at them. "I knew it! They tricked us!" Carlisle put his hand up at Edward, Rosalie kept her eyes on me and I got a vision, seeing the fight. Seeing Aro die, seeing almost all of us die, even my Moms.
