Jake scoffs at Johnnie's statement, shaking his head. "That's not true. My life would be completely different without you in it."

Johnnie hums when he hears this response. A slight depressed look grew on  his face as he began to think.

Jake notices the change in Johnnie's expression and pulls away slightly, looking at him with concern. "Hey, what's wrong? You look upset."

"No, I'm okay." Johnnie replied, lifting his head and kissing Jake's cheek. "I was just.. thinking."

Jake smiles softly at the kiss, but he's still worried about Johnnie. He knows that he's not the type to open up easily, but he wants to make sure that he's okay. "Thinking about what?"

"Doesn't matter, I love you." Johnnie says as he gets up from the couch.

Jake frowns, not liking the fact that Johnnie is trying to brush off his concerns. He stands up and takes his hand, pulling him back down onto the couch. "No, it does matter. If something's bothering you, I want to know about it. We're in this together, remember? We're a team."

"Just was thinking.. about like, if we never met. Would I be alive right now?" Johnnie suddenly asked, his expression suddenly looked tired.

Jake's heart sinks as he realizes the gravity of what Johnnie is saying. He pulls him into a tight hug, feeling a sense of dread at the thought of a world without him.

"Johnnie, please don't say things like that. I don't even want to imagine a world without you. You're so important to me, and I don't know what I would do if I lost you. You're my rock, my everything. I need you in my life. Please don't ever think that you're not worth living for."

Johnnie fell quiet. He just returned the hug. Kissing Jake's head. "I love you." He mutters.

Jake feels a rush of relief as Johnnie kisses him and returns the hug. He squeezes him tightly, never wanting to let go. "I love you too, Johnnie. More than you could ever know. And I promise you, I'm never going to let anything happen to you. You're safe with me, always."

Johnnie smiled at Jake's words. They truly did touch his heart.

A few weeks went by,

and Johnnie was self isolating now. His door was locked and he was shutting his lover out. His depression was starting to act up, and even gave him suicidal thoughts.

Jake is starting to get worried about Johnnie's sudden change in behavior. He's noticed that he's been isolating himself and refusing to talk to him. He knocks on the door to Johnnie's room, hoping that he'll open up. "Johnnie, can we talk? I'm worried about you."

"Fuck off!" Johnnie shouts at his boyfriend. Pulling the blanket over his head, and tearing up underneath it. He felt horrible pushing Jake away.

Jake flinches at the harsh tone in Johnnie's voice. He's never heard him speak like that before, and it's clear that something is seriously wrong. He tries the door handle, but it's locked.

He presses his ear against the door, trying to hear what's going on inside. "Johnnie, please. I just want to help. I know you're hurting, but I can't help you if you shut me out like this."

"I'm fine, Jake! Now just leave me alone! Get the fuck away from my door!" Johnnie shouts again, in a depressive irritation.

Jake's heart breaks as he hears Johnnie's desperate plea for him to leave. He doesn't want to abandon him, but he doesn't know what else to do.

He takes a step back from the door, feeling helpless and frustrated. "Okay, I'll leave you alone. But I'm not giving up on you. I'll be here when you're ready to talk, okay?"

Johnnie didn't reply. He just closed his eyes and went to sleep, as he usually does. He sleeps all day.

Jake spends the rest of the day worrying about Johnnie. He tries to distract himself by doing some chores around the house, but his mind keeps wandering back to his boyfriend.

He wants to go and check on him, but he knows that Johnnie needs his space right now. He just hopes that he's okay and that he'll come out of his room soon.

The clock reads 11PM, Johnnie is awake in his room. Sitting on his floor and just thinking.

Jake can't sleep, so he decides to check on Johnnie one last time before he goes to bed. He walks over to his room and knocks softly on the door.

"Johnnie? Are you awake?"
