After a moment of silence, she speaks just above a whisper. "I want you to ride with me somewhere."

"Where to Marisia?" I whisper mocking her quietness.

"Dragonstone." She says firmly, tracing my chest with her index finger.

Dragonstone has been abandoned for quite some time, it has become a home for Targaryen dragons. This was one of the places Marisia and I would escape to, in order to love each other in ways others would be appalled.

The love we shared was always kept a secret. We both pledged to one another that no matter what happens, in the end we will prevail. We would set duty aside and always remember that we have each other. The only issue is that our closeness has never gone overlooked in Kings Landing, most know but wouldn't dare to say. An allegation like that would tread on traitorous grounds.

I stare at her, tucking a piece of her blonde hair behind her ear. Thinking that since she is now eighteen, soon she will have ceremonies of countless suitors in attendance from various houses coming to impress her enough that she shall wed. Especially since the king has grown sick. She begins to pout waiting for an answer.

"It is getting quite late, we wouldn't want your father to worry." I can see the sadness take over her wishful eyes.

"But since it is your birthday." I say as she quickly gets off of me and swirls around the room in a cheerful manner.

I shake my head and laugh as I grab my shirt and follow her towards the dragon pit where her dragon Saphira lies waiting for her arrival.

I watch as she climbs onto her dragon with ease, steading herself on her customized saddle.

"Get there before you do!" She yells down at me playfully.

"You always do princess!" I yell back with a smirk plastered on my face. I watch as Saphira takes off, soaring straight up into the sky. The only place in the world I cannot protect her from harm. I look down and laugh as I make my way to Jesper.

I hop onto him swiftly and tap his back right side signaling for him to gallop towards Dragonstone.

Once we have made it, I tie him up to the tree he is all so familiar with before I make my way to the entrance.

"Took you long enough." Marisia smirks at me as she leans against an old stone with her arms crossed at her chest.

I walk over to her slowly, taking in every inch of her perfection. I stand in front of her with my arms at my sides.

We stare at each other for a moment. "Kiss me." She says slowly, looking up at me. I place my hand under her chin and bend down slightly to kiss her lips gently. She backs away with a furrowed brow.

"Tell me what is bothering you Maddox." My name spills like honey out of her mouth.

"Matthias said something about us during battle." I say taking a step from her. She tilts her head to the side curiously.

"He said that I will be the reason you can't succeed as Queen, for I am not enough for someone of your status. To be fair, he is right. I can't give you children, something like this is forbidden and I must not allow you to continue passing up suitors on my behalf." I say quietly avoiding her gaze.

"I will need to marry a man from an allying house eventually, this is something we have discussed but that will not change how I feel for you. I could never love someone as I do you Maddox, you know this. You are my knight." She takes my arm and pulls me closer.

"Even a husband will be unable to be as close as you are to me at all times." With her words,
I place my hand on her heart.

"My life is yours Marisia." I say meeting her bright blue eyes.

"Then you shall not let politics in the way of what we have always had Maddox." She says matter-of-factly.

"The children I have with whoever I marry will be yours to train into Knights like I have always promised you." She moves my hand to her cheek and I rub my thumb across her cheek gently.

"What if-." She stops me abruptly.

"Stop this nonsense and just love me." She says quietly. I sigh and pick her up leading her up the steps of Dragonstone and into the castle where I show her the love I have always held for her and her only.
