Chapter 18

A groundbridge opened up inside the cave system. The six children hopped out of it and K, Rex and Aqua felt dizzy and nauseous. 

“ That’s gonna take some getting used to. ” the three of them complained. 

K gagged while Aqua held onto Rex’s arm for stability.Rex stood still with his head tilted up, trying to balance himself. Aqua had been learning to walk comfortably with her limp. Of course it was still difficult and new, but she had to learn to walk with it, because it was going to be permanent. 

“ Have six of you made it? ” Ratchet spoke over Jack’s cell phone. 

“ Affirmative. We’re in. ” Jack confirmed. 

“ Alright, Raf, Aqua and K will try to open the vault, while the rest of us will keep guard. ” Jack told them his plan. 

Everyone nodded in agreement. 

Miko stood at the right side of the cave while Jack and Rex stood near the entrance. 

Raf walked towards the panel. 

It required a special access code to open the vault, even Agent Fowler doesn’t know. 

Luckily, Ratchet and Aqua had prepared a special device that can hack the codes and open the vault. 

“ We have to try and hurry. There is no fresh air down here with limited oxygen, and there are six of us. If we use it up too fast, we could suffocate. ” Jack informed the others. Raf nodded and placed the device on the panel. 

The screen began showing many numbers, but it turned red. 

It had the words “access denied” on it. 

Raf was confused, but tried again. It didn’t work. 

“Why isn’t this working?” Aqua asked.  “ This vault seems old, there are even cracks through it, yet it would not budge. ”

“I got this.” K said before using her powers to slip between the cracks, unlocking the door from the other side.

The door made a click sound, before finally opening. 

“ Yes! ” Raf cheered and high-fived K. 

Inside the vault, revealed a small box. 

“ All that for a tiny box? ” Miko exclaimed from her side. 

“ Miko! Keep on guard! ” Jack scolded. 

“ Ugh, why do you have to ruin everything? ” Miko whined. “ There’s nothing to keep guard of!”

 Aqua cautiously walked inside the vault. 

It was really dusty and suffocating, she was having a hard time breathing. 

There were cobwebs everywhere, with some spiders still hanging on them. 

Aqua cringed. 

Spiders were not really her thing. 

She bent down and gently lifted the box. 

If it was protected, it must be a dangerous crystal. 

Aqua opened the box and saw that the crystal was purple, unlike the other crystals. 

Of course, since it represents Decepticons and darkness, it’s a dark colour.
