Alexander's POV:

When Andrew shared the past, I was beyond angry that the police blamed Emily and left those two douchebags free but I was also content with the fact that those two were bet till they were hospitalized.

After speaking with Andrew I marched towards our room and found Mily laying peacefully on the bed. Eth was sitting out in the balcony, I neared him and asked "you good now?"

He nodded his head and said "I am sorry for lashi......" but before he could continue, I cut him and said "Andrew told me what happened 5 years ago", Eth clenched his jaw and nodded.

"I'll leave now" he said and was about to leave but turned back and said "please take care of her. She really means a lot to me and a lot of us" I nodded. Before he could turn back, I asked him "Eth wait. The incident which took place 5 years ago is that why you distanced yourself from me?"

"Yes, it was. Though I would like for you to know that it was not because I did not trust you. It was because I didn't trust myself. I lost my faith in friendship. Even before the incident people used me for my family's name but I let it be because no one was harmed but what happened with Emily just shook me to my core. Wanted or unwantedly I cut all the ties I've ever had with people. I'm sorry if I've hurt you Xan but trust me it was never my intention" Eth said with tears threating to fall from his eyes.

"Under one condition I can forgive you" I said.

"Ready, state your condition" he said in a heartbeat without even wasting a second.

"You didn't even listen to what I wanted but you agreed?" I questioned him.

"I guess I've learnt to trust people over time" he replied.

"Just promise me not to never lose trust on yourself and give me a hug" I said. He smiled at me and nodded his head and walked towards me and hugged me and promised me for what I asked. My eyes did become watery but I held my tears.

"You look like shit, go freshen up" I teased Ethan and slightly pushed him towards the door.

"Even in this state I look better than you Knight" he flicked me and went out of the room.

I made my way towards the bed. I sat next to Emily's sleeping figure and caressed her hair. She stirred slightly and opened her eyes and sat up quickly.

"Take me back home I... I can't stay here. Please Alex just get me out of here. I'm done, please...please..." Mily kept sobbing saying these words. I pulled her towards me and made her sit on my lap and held her and this time she didn't resist instead gave up and hugged my tightly and continued sobbing.

"Hey, calm down I'm here and no one's gonna hurt you I promise" I whispered in her ears.

"You are here for now what about later? Everyone leaves please don't make fake promises" she whispered and broke the hug but continued sitting on my lap. I lightly held her chin but she removed my hand from her chin.

"Mily look at me sweetheart" I said softly. She looked at me a tear strained eyes.

"Whatever happened in the past it's not your fault, it never was. So, there's no point of dwelling on your past. It's been what 5 years its high time you stop wasting your tears on those scumbags" I told her.

"I know it's not my fault Alex but so many people suffered because of me" she said and tears flowed from her eyes.

"No one suffered because of you and if you feel so, care to elaborate why?" I questioned her.
