Author's Note: I have uploaded pictures of all the girls so have a look if you're unsure :)
"Alex!" A voice from behind me yelled and a pattering of footsteps grew louder.
I turned around and was suddenly smashed into by a flying Rikki who flung her arms around me, nearly knocking me off my feet.
"Woah," I said, laughing nervously, "someone is excited about school."
"No silly," she replied, detaching herself and smoothing the front of her shirt, "I was excited to see you both." She grinned over my shoulder at Emily who clutched her books and giggled softly.
"What's first?" I asked her, biting my lip and glancing at the crumpled sheet which was my timetable.
"Biology," she groaned, "I'm awful at it, so suck up to smarty behind you if you need your homework done." She nodded to Emily who blushed furiously.
"I'm not that good," she said quietly, opening her mouth to continue when she was interrupted by Rikki who waved a hand at her and rolled her eyes.
"Stop being so modest Em, you're amazing," She fiddled with the combination on her locker and pulled open the blue door, removing her backpack and a thick textbook, "ready to learn about trees and the small intestine?"
...
We pulled to a halt outside a classroom in the science wing, the walls plastered with thousands of outdated posters, faded from years of sunlight and the corners wilted with age. We stood by the wall as we waited for our teacher to arrive.
"Mmmm..." Rikki mused, looking up at Einstein sticking his tongue out at the stream of students behind us, "he always creeped me out."
"He's a genius," giggled Emily, "but yeah I guess he's a bit weird."
"Nice moustache," I said.
"Sexy sideburns," laughed Rikki.
"Please girls," said a deep voice from behind us, "do not criticise one of the greatest physicians of our time."
We turned on our heels, guilty looks on our faces.
I looked up at the man, who according to my timetable was Mr Lewis, and was stunned.
He was fair haired and young, with tanned skin and sparkling eyes. His suit was tailored to fit him well and he had a stack of books under his arm.
Rikki whistled out under her breath. "Mr Lewis huh?"
"Yes," he replied, "Rikki Hastings I presume? I've heard plenty about you."
She dipped her head and clamped her mouth shut. He swept his eyes across us, nodding before addressing me, "And you must be Alexandra. New, am I correct?"
"Yes, sir," I said cautiously as he shuffled through the papers in his hands.
He looked up and smiled a row of pearly white teeth. "Shall we?" He asked, beckoning towards the empty science lab.
We all walked inside, the cool room a contrast to the sticky hallway outside. Rikki, Emily and I sat down on the back bench, the wooden surface scratched and burned with years of students. I traced the words "Kayla + Jayden 4 Eva" with my finger as Rikki looked bored and fiddled with the gas taps.
Mr Lewis set down his books and took off his jacket, rolling up his sleeves. I heard Emily giggle softly next to me.
I had to admit he was pretty hot. He was probably in his early thirties but still had a sleek haircut, his suit trousers hugging his legs and his arms muscular. Emily sighed and rested her chin on her hand dreamily.
