HIS SMOKE FROM HIS CIGARETTE TWIRLED AROUND THE ROOM AS HE STARED AT HIS PHONE,

contemplating if he should text you or even call, knowing damn well you were probably asleep. He stared at photos. Hell, maybe even the sexual tapes y'all had recorded together. He hated the fact just in one day everything turned around for the both of you.

THE AIR CRACKLED WITH TENSION IN JACE'S APARTMENT.

He stood, fists clenched, chest heaving with anger as his girlfriend Y/N backed away, tears welling in her eyes.

"You never listen, Jace!" Y/N voice trembled, her hands shaking as she pointed accusingly at him. "You always think you're right, but you don't give a damn about how I feel!"

Jace's jaw tightened. "Oh, here we go again. Always gotta make some shit about you."

"I'm your girlfriend, Jace! I deserve some respect!"

"Respect?" Jace scoffed. "You want respect? You don't even know what that means!"

Her breath hitched. "And you do? You're selfish and self-centered, Jace!"

The words hung heavy in the air, each syllable felt like a sharp dagger. Jace's hand shot out in anger, intending to gesture forcefully, but it connected with her cheek instead. The room fell silent as Y/N staggered back, a stunned expression on her face.

Jace's eyes widened in horror as he realized what he had done. "Bae, I... I didn't mean to..."

Y/n shook her head slowly, her resolve hardening despite her heartbreak. "I need some time, Jace. Please, just give me some space."

Jace nodded numbly, his hands trembling as he watched her gather her things. The door clicked shut softly behind her, leaving him alone with the echoes of their shattered trust and a painful lesson learned too late.

DESPITE BEING TUFF ON THE
INTERNET,

a tear trickled down his face as he slowly kept remembering the scene unfold. He knew if you were here, you'd be able to comfort him in ways nobody else knew.

His fingers hovering over your contact debating on if he should call you, but he was already too caught up in the moment to ignore that HE NEEDED YOU.

After two rings, he was already losing hope until then a soft, light sound on the other end of the line was followed by a brief silence, as if the person on the other end was hesitant to speak. Finally, a familiar voice, warm yet tinged with concern, broke through the quiet.

"Hey," she said softly, "are you okay?"

His throat tightened at the sound of her voice, a mix of relief and vulnerability washing over him. "I... I don't know," he admitted, his voice cracking slightly. "I just needed to hear your voice."

There was a pause, filled only with the sound of their breathing mingling over the line. "I'm here," she reassured him gently. "Tell me what's going on."

He hesitated, the weight of his emotions threatening to overwhelm him. "It's just... everything feels like it's falling apart," he confessed, his voice barely above a whisper. "And I... I miss you."

"I miss you too," she replied softly, her tone understanding. "I wish I could be there with you right now."

He closed his eyes, imagining her presence beside him, comforting him with her warmth and understanding. "Just hearing your voice helps," he admitted, a tear escaping down his cheek.

"Sometimes that's all we need," she murmured.

He nodded silently, even though he knew she couldn't see his face, but grateful for her understanding. "Thank you for picking up," he finally managed to say. "I needed to hear you."

"I'll always be here for you," she promised gently. "No matter what."

And in that moment, despite the distance and the hardships, he felt a glimmer of hope. Knowing that she was there, ready to listen and support him, made all the difference.

"Thank you," he repeated, his voice steadier now. "I... I needed you."

"I know," she said softly. "And I'm here."

They stayed on the line, talking quietly into the night, finding solace in each other's presence, even if it was just through a phone call. And as the tears slowly dried and the heaviness in his heart eased, he knew that with her by his side, he could face whatever challenges lay ahead.
