THE DIM LIGHTS OF THE STUDIO FLICKED, CASTING A SOFT GLOW ON THE SCATTERED EQUIPMENT.

Jayden, my best friend since forever, had invited me to join him and Elijah for a smoke sesh. I've always had a crush on Jayden, but I kept my feelings on lock. No way I was gonna mess up our bond.

Jayden was laid back in the producer's chair, looking effortlessly fine as always. Elijah was setting up his mic, talking about some new track they were working on. I tried to focus on what they were saying, but my mind kept drifting back to Jayden. How the hell was I supposed to tell him I was crushing hard?

"Ayo, Y/N, you good?" Jayden's voice broke through my thoughts. I realized I had been staring at him, lost in my head.

"Yeah, I'm straight. Just zoned out for a sec," I replied, trying to sound casual.

He smirked, that damn smirk that made my stomach flip. "Aight, let's get this session started then."

We all settled into our spots, and the blunt started making its rounds. The room filled with the sweet, earthy scent of it, and I felt myself relax a bit. Maybe this wasn't such a bad idea after all.

Jayden passed me the blunt, his fingers brushing against mine. "Here, Y/N. Take a hit."

I took a deep drag, letting the smoke fill my lungs before exhaling slowly. The world felt a little softer, a little more manageable. But then, Jayden's eyes met mine, and I felt that familiar rush of nerves.

Elijah was busy tweaking some beats, lost in his own world, so it was just me and Jayden for a moment. He leaned in closer, his voice low. "So, what's been on your mind, Y/N? You've been acting kinda different lately."

I hesitated, my heart racing. "It's nothing, Jay. Just, you know, life and shit."

He raised an eyebrow, clearly not buying it. "Come on, you can tell me anything. We're friends, remember?"

The words hit hard. friends. That was the problem, wasn't it? I took another hit, hoping the weed would give me some courage. "Jayden, I... I gotta tell you something, but you gotta promise not to freak out."

His expression turned serious. "Of course. You know I got you."

I took a deep breath, the words tumbling out before I could stop them. "I like you, Jay. Like, more than a friend."

The room went silent, the only sound the faint hum of the equipment. Jayden's eyes widened in surprise, and I felt a pang of fear. What if I just ruined everything?

"Y/N... I..." He seemed at a loss for words.

I quickly tried to backtrack, feeling my heart drop. "Look, forget I said anything. I'm high, and I wasn't thinking straight. Just—"

But Jayden cut me off, his hand reaching out to grab mine. "Nah, don't do that. Don't take it back."

I stared at him, confusion and hope battling inside me. "What do you mean?"

He took a deep breath, his eyes locking onto mine. "I've been feeling the same way, Y/N. I just didn't know how to tell you. I didn't wanna mess up what we have."

A wave of relief washed over me, followed by a rush of happiness. "For real?"

He nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "For real. Guess we're both liked each other then, huh?"

We both laughed, the tension breaking. Elijah looked over, clueless about what had just gone down. "Yo, what's so funny?"

Jayden shook his head, still smiling. "Nothing, man. Just... everything's good."

I couldn't believe it. All this time, we had been on the same page. As we settled back into the session, I felt a new sense of hope. Maybe this was just the beginning for us. And for once, everything felt right.

And for once, everything felt right
