Avery's POV:
it's now a little after 6 and jade is currently going through my closet trying to find the perfect outfit for me to wear.
"are you going for casual or are we trying to make a statement tonight?" i ask her.
"how about a little bit of both." she says as she tosses me a black mini skirt. oh boy.
usually i just wear a pair of jeans and a crop top to a party but this being the first party i've been invited to by the basketball team. i'm going to have to agree.
she then tosses me a white cropped tank top and a black jacket to go over the tank. so i have the option of being revealing or a little bit more concealed.
"you'll wear your black platform converse." she says walking away from my closet.
"what would i do without you?" i ask sarcastically with a chuckle. she just gives me a little laugh.
"makeup time?" she asks all perky. she's very excited for this party.
i give her a nod and he head to my bathroom and begin our makeup together.
"so is there anyone in particular you want to see tonight?" jade asks just to make small talk.
"actually.." i drag out, while i blend in my blush. jade darts her eyes over to me in amusement. she raises her eyebrows signaling me to 'spit it out'.
"it's nothing really, but i'm kind of excited to see paige for some reason." i do my absolute best to say that as chill as possible. but that doesn't stop jade from almost choking.
"hold on.. paige bueckers? THE paige bueckers?"
"could you be anymore dramatic?" i ask her. "i told you it's nothing. we've barely even spoken but i have kinda gotten in my head that she's been checking me out but i could be delusional." i finish applying my blush and move on to mascara.
"avery, i love you and support all delusions, but you don't need to go there with paige. you know how she's like." jade tells me as she now sounds concerned.
"i know jade, i didn't say i had a crush on her or anything. like i said, it's no big deal. now hurry up, we gotta get going soon." i tell her. but on the inside, i know she's right. paige has a record that she's known for. and i know in reality, i want nothing to do with that.
as i finished with my lip gloss, jade dramatically gasps. "wow we are hot." she says slyly.
"you are not wrong honey." i tell her while we smile to each other.
