halloween bash

Avery's POV:

i take one last look in the mirror in paige's bathroom as i finish adjusting my costume. paige actually didn't do a bad job like i had half expected.

she chose lola and bugs from space jam.

it's definitely a couple costume but i decided against making that known. i mean there's no way she doesn't know, i mean she's gotta know what she's doing. i'm just here going with the flow as i promised myself.

i exit the bathroom to go show paige and as soon as i cut the corner, like on queue she turns to look at me.

"i'll take credit any second now for how good i did in choosing these. we look cute as hell." paige says cheesy as ever.

"i can't disagree with you on this one bueckers. you did good." i tell her, easily giving her the compliment and fueling her ego here.

"you about ready to go?" she asks.

"yeah but just a quick favor first." i start to ask but i pause out of nervousness. just spit it out avery. "would you care to take a picture before we leave?"

she gives me a cheesy smile. "of course not, i was going to ask if you wanted to." i let out a sigh of relief and give her a smile. "let's do it outside. i have a good spot you can prop your phone." paige adds.

we grab our things and head outside. paige has her back facing the camera, showing off the back of her bugs jersey and i prop my hand up on her shoulder as i face the camera. that was photo one. and photo two, paige turns around and wraps her arm around my waste and pulls me close. looking a tad bit more than friends here but again i don't say anything. i let her explore how she wants to.

after we finish taking our photos we look at all of them and pick our favorites.

"will you post this one on your instagram?" paige asks softly.

i'm taken by surprise at her question. she wants me to post a picture of me and her on my instagram. granted it's the one where she has her back turned but still.

"i can." i tell her happily.

"people outside of UConn that follow you will definitely speculate that it's me, but they won't have too much proof without my face showing. this way i can make it on to your instagram somehow." she says, giving me a smile like it's an accomplishment.

"alright, we gotta go now. we don't want kk yelling at us for being late to our own party." paige adds as she takes my hand and leads us to her car.
