Synopsis: After feeling like a failure due to your last mission, your friend and crush, Fuegoleon Vermillion, tries to comfort you.

After reporting the results of your mission to the Wizard King, Julius, you find yourself sitting on top of the castle. You gaze at the Clover Kingdom below you as you replay todays mission in your mind.

You, Finraal, Asta, and Noelle had been sent to retrieve a magic item from a strong mana zone. However, you ran into more trouble than you were prepared for when a group of strong mages from the Spade Kingdom attacked you. The Spade mages were quick to over power you all, so Finraal had left to get help. By the time help had arrived,  you were the last one left standing. Captain Yami and Nozel began to take on the more experienced mages while you stood, looking at your injured friends on the ground.

Now you sit on the cold stone of the castle, hoping that your friends heal quickly and blaming yourself for your weaknesses. You're broken from your thoughts by the sound of foot steps on the roof.

"I heard about your mission."

You turn to see your good friend and crush, Captain Fuegoleon and you feel your face heat up slightly. This is just great, now even he knows how much of a failure you are. You turn away from him and look back down at the kingdom below.

You hear his steps continue to approach and he is suddenly sitting next to you. You can feel his heat radiating off of him as he sits only a few inches away.

"You fought bravely out there."

You continue to look down, "But I didn't do enough."

"It's because of you that you and your squad mates made it out alive."

"It's because of Captain Yami and Nozel that we're alive. I just prolonged our situation."

"It's because of you that you were all still alive when they arrived there though."

You didn't respond to him, you couldn't. You felt so ashamed and weak.

He sighed, "I wish you could see how brave and powerful you are. I wish you could see yourself the way I see you."

Your shoulders tensed at his words, feeling your face heat up slightly. He couldn't possibly mean anything like that... could he? No, he just sees you as a friend, nothing more. He's just trying to comfort his friend.

"Fuegoleon, thank you for trying to comfort me, thank you for being a good friend."

Out of the side of your eye you see him make a slight face, but you try to ignore it.

"I just wish I was stronger. Strong enough to protect the kingdom, my friends, you. I guess I just want to mean something."

His voice raises, "You do mean something! You mean everything!"

You looked up, staring into his eyes. It felt like the world went away and it was just the two of you.

He broke the silence, "You mean everything to me."

He gently took your face in his hands and began leaning forward. You closed your eyes as you felt his lips touch yours. The shock wore off and you began to kiss him back, your lips caressing each other's.

As he pulled back, your eyes fluttered open and you saw Fuegoleon looking down at you smiling, "I love you (y/n), more than you can ever know. You are the most beautiful, kind, amazing person I know."

You continued to stare at him, still in a slight state of disbelief.

He looks into your eyes, "Please, (y/n), I have to know, will you be mine?"

You cup his face in your hands, "Yes, of course!"

He begins to kiss you again, this time with more passion. You feel him grin into the kiss as your lips press against each other. One of his hands trail down to your hip, you cherish the feeling of his warmth of his hand against your skin. Fuegoleon breaks away for air, only to quickly return to your lips. He impatiently tastes your lips, a sensation he's waited so long for.

You both break apart, resting your foreheads together.

He smiles at you, "I love you, (y/n), you're my everything."

You smile up at him, "I love you too, Fuegoleon."

The two of you spend the rest of the night wrapped in each other's arms, gazing at the stars above you.
