My Flower (Mereoleona x Reader)

You were walking through the gardens of the Crimson Lions' base, taking in the beauty of the flowers, when all of a sudden you feel yourself falling to the ground. You look up to see what sent you flying to the ground and you're presented with the sight of a tall woman with fiery red hair and a large smirk plastered on her face. You quickly conclude that this must be the Captain's sister, Mereoleona.

You've heard many people talk about the Captain's sister before. Most people referring to her as crazy or scary, but from the stories you've heard about her, you've mostly taken away that she's powerful and hard working. Now seeing her up her up close, you can't help but think that people forgot to mention that she's also gorgeous.

You're broken from your thoughts by the appearance of a hand in your face. Flushed with embarrassment, you grab her hand and allow her to pull you up off the ground. Lightly dusting the dirt from your pants, you apologize for running into her.

She laughs, "It's not as if you hurt me. Plus one can't complain about running into such a pretty woman."

Before you can even comprehend her words, the smirking woman is walking inside to look for her brother.

And that was your first encounter with Mereoleona Vermillion.

After Fuegoleon had gone into a coma, the Crimson Lions' were in search of a new captain for the time being. You are back keeping watch over the base when you receive the news that Mereoleona Vermillion is to be the new captain of the Crimson Lions. You feel your heart begin to race in your chest at the announcement. There's no way that the woman that hasn't left your head since the moment you bumped into her several months ago will now be your Captain. You only hear the sound of your heart beat in your head as nervousness and excitement pulse through your veins.

As you hear the main doors to the base open, you run towards the entrance. You stand watching as your squad mates return and through the crowd you see her enter, Mereoleona Vermillion. As she enters the building with her arms crossed over her chest, she scans the room, looking at her new subordinates. You watch as her gaze lands upon you. Her eyebrows raise and her impossibly large smirk grows even larger on her face.

You stand frozen in your place as she begins to approach you with wide and confident steps.

"You're here," she states as she takes in your appearance.

You shuffle nervously, awkwardly responding, "Yeah, I kinda live here."

You stand frozen, staring into her blue eyes and you can't but think about how they look like sapphires against the flaming color of her hair. You break from your trance, feeling sudden embarrassment from the realization that you're standing in the middle of the base, ogling your new captain. Panicking, you bashfully excuse yourself from the situation. As you walk away, Mereoleona smirks to herself thinking about how cute she finds you and your flustered nature.

You quickly go to your bedroom, throwing yourself onto the bed and thinking about your embarrassment. You lay in bed, mulling over all the things you could've or should've said as you fall asleep.

You're awoken by the sound of banging on your door.

"One second," you groggily announce before getting up and quickly throwing on some fresh clothes.

As you open the door you see Mereoleona standing there, holding four of your squad mates with fiery arms.

She smirks at you, "(Y/n), you're awake! You'll be joining us for training!"

You look up at her, still barely awake, "You know my name?"

She feels her heart begin to pulse faster as she takes in the sleepy look in your eyes and responds heartily, "What kind of a Captain would I be if I didn't know the names of my squad members?"

She turns and walks down the hall, dragging your squad mates behind her. Seeing that you haven't started following her she stops and turns back towards you.

"You coming?"

You quickly begin walking towards her, "Oh um, yeah. Sorry."

She chuckles, "Now there's no need to apologize, Sweetheart."

Your steps falter at the sound of her new nickname for you, but you quickly begin moving again, struggling to keep her pace. You walk for a while, watching as she drags your squad mates towards wherever you're going.

After a bit of walking you question her, "How come you're not grabbing me?"

She turns towards you and looks in your eyes, "What? Do you want me to, Sweetheart?"

You stutter, "No! I mean no thank you? I mean..."

She begins to laugh at your flustered state, "You're too cute!"

You stand there dumbfounded as she turns, walking towards the destination again.

Once again you begin to follow her, trying to suppress the blush on your face.

You make it to a fiery volcano and your jaw drops. You turn towards your captain, immediately fearing for your safety. She informs your small group that you'll be climbing the extremely violent volcano and at the top there would be a hot spring waiting for you. Before anyone could ask her any questions, she practically flies up to the top and looks down at all of you.

After weighing your options, you begin to climb since you're going to have to do it at some point since Mereoleona does not seem like the type of person to let you walk away from a challenge. Thankfully, you're quick to realize that you would have to use mana skin in order to make it through these extreme conditions. You beginning climbing up at a moderate pace and eventually make it to the top, being one of the first on your team to make it there. You look at Mereoleona for a moment before looking over at the hot spring. You quickly realize that there's only one spring and everyone else here is a man, so you'd have to share the spring with them. You stand there cringing at the hot spring, knowing bathing with your male squad mates is the last thing you're interested in doing.

Your broken from your thoughts as Mereoleona places an arm around your shoulder, "Don't worry, I have something better planned for us."

You look at her, blushing and hope that the heat of the mountain is hiding the blush from her view. However, from the cocky look on her face, you're forced to realize that she must know the true reason for the blush that tints your cheeks.

She begins walking you away from the hot spring and towards the other side of the mountain. Once you make it a good distance away from where you began, you see a huge field of beautiful and rare flowers. Forgetting yourself, you run out into the field and begin to take everything in. You turn back to see Mereoleona walking towards you.

As she reaches the spot next to you, you look out into the field, "It's beautiful."

"Yeah it is," she responds.

But when you turn to thank her for bringing you here, you see that she's staring at you.

As you stare up into her eyes she smiles at you and brushes a piece of hair behind your ear, "I knew you would like it."

Shocked by her statement you question her, "How'd you know?"

She laughs before answering, "The first time we met, you were admiring the flowers in the garden."

You feel your heart rate pick up, "You remember?"

She smirks, "Of course I'd remember the first time I laid eyes on you."

She takes your hand as you turn and look back out at the field of flowers, enjoying each other's presence. You feel her lean down and turn towards her to see what she's you doing. She gently places a red flower behind your ear and smiles at you.

"There, a flower for my flower."
