Déjà vu (William Vangeance x Reader)

This is a William Oneshot for Arrowlina! Sorry it took so long, I literally wrote the whole thing and when I went back to edit it, it was gone 😅

Synopsis: After the Captain of the Golden Dawn saves you from falling on your face in the market, you end up with a crush on him. Once your feelings are exposed to the rest of your squad, can your secret really remain a secret?

You sit curled up in an arm chair in the common area of the Black Bull's hideout while your best friend, Vanessa, lays sprawled out on the couch across from you. After returning from a mission, you were glad to have the evening to wrap yourself up in a cozy blanket and hang out with your friend. Feeling yourself slowly sink into your nest of pillows, you take in the scent of your blanket, a true moment of peace. Unfortunately, the peaceful moment is broken by the voice of your captain.

"(Y/n), you're going on a mission!" He yells as he walks into the room, coming through one of Finral's portals.

"What? But I just got back from a mission."

He sighed as you sat up, unwrapping yourself from your blanket cocoon, "I know, but we need your magic for this mission."

"Okay, I guess I don't really have a choice do I?" You let out a light laugh.

Captain Yami joins in with your laughter and slaps you on the back, nearly sending you hurtling from your fluffy chair.

As you readjust your sitting position after the 'fatal' blow, Yami announces, "Great! You, me, Asta, and Finral leave tomorrow."

You pause your attempt to find a comfortable position, looking at your captain in confusion, "You're coming with us?"

He looks back at you, "Oh, yeah. It's a super dangerous mission. The Golden Dawn is even gonna be there. But we can't send newbies like you all into that danger alone, that's why each squad's captain is gonna go."

You feel your face begin to heat up at the reference to the Captain of the Golden Dawn and fall back into your chair, trying to hide your face in the least awkward way possible. Although, from the sound of Vanessa's laughter you can guess that you hadn't succeeded.

Yami looks at you confused for a moment before asking Vanessa, "What's up with her?"

Vanessa laughs as she answers, "Oh, nothing... She just has a HUGE crush on the Captain of the Golden Dawn!"

Sending her a glare, you throw a pillow in her direction.

Yami begins to laugh, "A crush on Goldie? Why?"

Sitting up from her lounging position, Vanessa responds through her laughter, "Well, last time you sent her out to get groceries, some guy bumped into her and she tripped. But before she could hit the ground, she was caught by none other than William Vangeance himself. He even helped her get the rest of the groceries and took her back to base, very romantic. She hasn't stopped talking about it since. Her Prince Charming~"

You launch another pillow in her direction, "Shut up, Vanessa!"

The two mages continue to laugh at you before finally settling back down. As the sound of their laughter echoing through the common area fades, Yami jokes before leaving the room, "Now don't let your little crush on Mr. Hero get in the way of the mission."

After Yami leaves the room, you turn towards Vanessa, "How dare you?"

Laying back down, she chuckles, "Relax, it's just Captain Yami. It's not like he'd ever tell."
