As the sun blazed down on Seoul National University, a sleek black Mercedes-Benz pulled up to the curb, turning heads as it did. From the car emerged a young man, likely in his early twenties, exuding an air of cool confidence. He wore a black button-down shirt paired with blue jeans, his sleeves rolled up to reveal intricate tattoos that adorned his forearms. A lip piercing glinted in the harsh sunlight, adding to his edgy appearance.
Before him, two boys were talking to each other.
"I talked to him about half an hour ago. He said he is on the way," said Taehyung.
"He is going to be late again today. You can bet on it. He would be just lying on his bed. Otherwise, just forget that he is going to come on time," Namjoon argued.
"I cannot come earlier than this," a sudden voice scared them as they both turned around.
"Sir, so kind of you to come. Now please be kind enough for one more thing," Taehyung sarcastically said.
"What's that?"
"Win this match for us. This match is against juniors of our department, it's about our respect."
"That's it? Let's go and play with these juniors then."
"Come on, Jungkook, let's go," Namjoon urged.
Jeon Jungkook, Kim Namjoon, and Kim Taehyung all three are pursuing their degree in business and are in their last year. There is a basketball tournament going on among the students of the business department. This time it was a match between third year and last year students.
The boys moved towards the basketball court, joining the rest of their team. The court was buzzing with excitement as students gathered around to watch the highly anticipated match. The juniors, their rivals, were already warming up on the opposite side. Among them, Kim Jimin stood out, his blond hair catching the sunlight as it swayed in the breeze, his every move exuding grace and intensity.
As the game started, Jungkook's skill on the court quickly became evident. He moved with agility and precision, scoring points effortlessly. Yet, amid the intensity of the match, his eyes kept drifting towards Jimin. Each time they passed each other on the court, their eyes would lock, a silent conversation passing between them.
In a crucial moment, Jungkook intercepted a pass from the other team and dashed towards the hoop. As he approached, Jimin moved to block him. For a brief second, they stood face to face, the world around them fading away. With a quick, almost imperceptible smile, Jungkook made a perfect pass to Jimin, who effortlessly scored for his team.
Taehyung and Namjoon exchanged puzzled looks but decided to let it slide for the moment. The game continued, and Jungkook kept passing the ball to Jimin, who, with his swift and graceful moves, led his team to gain a significant lead. The crowd was in disbelief, watching as Jungkook seemed more intent on helping Jimin than his own team.
As the final whistle blew, the Juniors celebrated their victory, their cheers echoing across the court. The seniors stood in stunned silence, unable to comprehend what had just happened. Taehyung and Namjoon approached Jungkook, their faces a mix of confusion and frustration.
"We lost!" Taehyung exclaimed, his voice tinged with disbelief. "I don't get it, you're playing on our side and still you keep giving passes to Jimin. What's the matter?"
Jungkook shrugged, his gaze fixed on Jimin, who was being hoisted up by his teammates in celebration. "I gave him my heart four years ago, and you're talking about giving him a pass?"
"But still, it's a match," Namjoon interjected, shaking his head in disappointment.
Jungkook sighed, watching Jimin's bright smile as he celebrated with the juniors. "Some things are more important than a match."
