Since I've trained so, so, so hard to get stronger, I decided to join the Magic Knights, following in my sister's footsteps. Princia was a member of the Blue Rose Knights, I wonder whether I would be able to get in that squad, or would fate choose me in another squad?
There were hundreds of people, lining up at the queue for permission to enter inside, and were waiting to become a magic knight. 'Next!' A man yelled as I was walking towards him to show him my grimoire. 'What's your name? He asked. 'Priana.' I replied. Technically, my full name is Priana Funnybunny, but I didn't want to get suspicions as I was a fallen noble, I just said my first name instead. Besides, there were probably no more people with that surname anyway. After the man looked at my grimoire, he told me to go in. Also, my number was 143.
Time passed as I waited there, many were chatting with their friends, declaring rivalry etc. Having no one to talk to made me bored. Besides, I was twenty five, whereas many were fifteen to eighteen. It made me wonder, how many years had it exactly passed after I went inside the dungeon? If centuries actually passed, then how old am I? To be honest, I still looked like twenty five, which was good, but it was quite strange to think that I was more than one hundred years old... Hilarious.
Finally, the Magic Knights captains had arrived. That took too long, I thought. William Vangeance - captain of the Golden Dawn (which I found out from other people's conversation) introduced himself as the head examiner. 'Now, let the Magic Knights Entrance Exam begin! Magic Tree Descent.' Surprisingly, a gigantic tree descended from the sky as many brooms landed on our hands from its roots. Flying with a broom was our first exam. This is going to be easy, I smiled. Barely using any effort, I flew high up into the sky. Many gasped.
'I thought she was just a commoner!'
'Yeah!'
'Her outfit does look good, I can give her that.'
'How is it possible?'
'She flew so high!'
Gossips. Not interesting, at all. Even the captains were amazed at what I did. Perhaps they too thought I was a commoner. However, I didn't bother to announce that I was no commoner anyway. And if I did, many would crowd over me and ask many questions which I wouldn't want to answer.
Moving on, I successfully passed the other tasks such as: firing our power at a wall, shooting a moving target, creating things with magic etc..
Finally, there was the last task - combat. We had to choose a duelling partner. Since I didn't know anyone, I waited until someone approached me. 'Wanna be partners?' A girl asked. 'Sure.' I answered. She was definitely a noble, I thought. 'My name is Amber Harviness, a noble, of course.' Must be an arrogant girl, I thought of that when she walked towards me. I knew it from the way she walked, her dress, her use of voice, and how she lifted her head up when speaking reflected that she looked down on anyone who was a commoner.
'The winner will be announced when your opponent yields. Also there are recovering mages here, so don't hesitate to strike your opponent down!' Fuegoleon - the captain of the Crimson Lion Kings shouted.
'Number 165 and 143!' A mage shouted. 'Don't cry when you lose, loser!' Amber teased. 'Does it look like I will do so?' I said, without showing any emotion. 'Hmph! Let's show you the power of us nobles!' Amber giggled confidently.
'Flame magic: fire-storm!' She yelled. This spell created many swirling flames surrounding me. I took out a sword from my sword sheath. It was a precious gift from my sister - Princia. Holding this sword could grant me immense speed (since my sister put some of her magic and power in the sword before giving it to me). Effortlessly, I dodged all the attacks from Amber. Without the need to cast a spell, I injured her with the blade of my sword. Frightened after I simply scratched her skin, she exclaimed, 'I yield!' Smiling slightly, I walked back towards the waiting area.
'Howcome she defeated Amber that easily?!'
'I know, right?'
'Who is she?'
Soon, the combat task ended, it was now the time for the captains to choose who they wanted to have in their squads.
'When your number is called, come forward. If a captain raises his or her hand, it means that you can get into their squad. If more than one captain raises their hands, you will be able to choose the squad you would like to join.' Nozel said with a calm expression on his face.
'Number 1, the Purple Orcas'
'Number 2 no hands'
......
......
'Number 143.' Nervously, I walked towards the front, facing the captains. Time suddenly went extremely slow for me, who would raise their hands for me? Slowly lifting my head up, I glanced at the captains. Captain Charlotte of the Blue Rose Knights was the first among the others to raise her hand. Gradually, some other captains raised their hands as well. So did Captain Yami of the Black Bulls and Captain Vangeance of the Golden Dawn. Everyone gasped. 'All... All Captains?!' They all gave me a tough decision to make. My heart was beating rapidly as I needed to decide within a few seconds. So I did the process of elimination. Eventually, I had to choose between the Blue Rose Knights or the Golden Dawn...
Tick-tock tick-tock, time was tickling. Princia was a member of the Blue Rose Knights. I wanted to follow her footsteps, but the Golden Dawn was the strongest squad, and I wanted to become stronger.
Who should I pick?
Who should I pick?
'I would like to join...'
