11 - Trouble In A Party

Hi guys! Sorry for disappearing for so so so long... Anyway, this is chapter 11! I was so excited at the end when I was writing it! Why? Battle scenes!!! This is a longer chaper than usual, containing 3000+ words! Excited? Let's not wait anymore and let the story BEGIN!

A few days had passed after the duel with Captain Silva. I've heard that since he got saved by me at the end of the battle, he never talked about it as it'd ruin his reputation. No one actually knew about the duel, well, maybe his siblings might. It didn't matter, I wasn't the type of person to show off anyway.

'Oh? I have a new mission? Alright, I'll go to find Captain Vangeance now, thanks Klaus.' I nodded as I got up from my chair in my room and went to the Captain's office.

Knock knock. 'Captain? You called for me?' I knocked on his office door. 'Yes, please come in.' Slowly, I opened the door and went in.

'Priana, I have a new mission for you. This time, you'll need to go with Letoile and Diana. There's a party for nobles in the Noble Realms' Grand Hall - the place where nobles usually held their parties. The Wizard King thinks that there will be trouble during the party. Therefore he gave orders to send three people from the Golden Dawn to go to the party. I decided to let you go with Letoile and Diana because they both are nobles and you might want to get to know more about your squadmates. Anyway, this is the invitation for the party. Please meet up with the other two as soon as possible. And remember to bring appropriate clothes for the party, this party is quite a formal one. Good luck. You may take your leave if you don't have any queries.' Captain Vangence explained. 'I'll go right away. Thank you.' I saluted and left the room.

To be honest, I used to be a noble too, which means that I know basic etiquettes, so don't worry, Captain, I'll complete the mission successfully.

Right after the captain informed me about my mission, I quickly went back to my room and opened my wardrobe. Hm... What should I wear? There! Hope this one will work!

'Hello. You must be Priana, I'm Letoile Becquerel. I'll be going on the mission with you.' A voice said as I was waiting at the gates. 'Hello, Letoile. I'm honoured to have a mission with you.' I politely smiled slightly at her. Since I didn't know if she was the type to say: 'I'm your senior! So don't speak casually to me!', so I bowed down my head a little and said it politely (even though I was never a rude person, people just said that I was cold-hearted and things like that).

'Oh! You two are here already? Then should we get going?' A purple-haired girl walked towards us and asked. 'Yes. We don't want to be late for a party.' Letoile looked at her as she hopped onto her broom. 'Yup! Let's go! To the Grand Hall!' Diana laughed enthusiastically.

There wasn't a Grand Hall where nobles held their parties in my era, so I didn't know where it was, which means I had to follow Letoile and Diana in order to get there.

When we were on our way, it was silent. The atmosphere was dead. I actually wasn't the person who was talkative all the time and hated silence, I was the complete opposite. I never socialised much, nor was I a loud person, I just stood at the corners of a room all the time when there's an important event which I had to attend like nobles' meetings etc..

However, Diana didn't seem to enjoy the silence that much as her mouth opened once or twice but closed after a second or so, it seemed that she wanted to speak but just couldn't think of what to say.

'So... What trouble do you guys think will appear that needs us to solve or help with?' Diana spoke up from the awkward silence. 'Probably trouble-makers who decide to steal, since it is indeed a nobles' gathering.' Letoile suggested. 'Oh! Maybe they just want to cause a scene! Wait, that wouldn't make the Wizard King call us here though. Oh! Oh! Oh! Or maybe they wanted to kidnap a noble!' Diana exclaimed. 'They wouldn't kidnap people in front of that many nobles, besides, it wouldn't be clever to do such a thing as there are plenty of magic knights who are nobles and might attend this party, who knows?' I put forward my point. 'True.' Diana sighed. 'Let's not jump into conclusion yet. And remember to stay on our guard. By the way, we've arrived.' Letoile informed.
