The slicing of vegetables, fire embers, water boiling, and crickets could be heard in the deep of the woods they were in but Dymphna couldn't focus on that. Or rather, she didn't want to.

She was knee-deep in her thoughts and refused to get out of them until someone got her out. But for now, she couldn't care, as everything became background noise to her.

". . . so, is anybody gonna help me out with these potatoes? Or we just gonna glare at each other?" Hanji, whom she learned the name of, questioned as the rest stuck with the latter.

"Heh. We've gone from trading blows to breaking bread inside of a day, huh? Out of curiosity, what made you change your minds?" Magath questioned in his tone before continuing, "If you let Eren Jaeger succeed, you'll be getting far more than you ever could have hoped for. You island devils will have the world to yourselves. We were the ones trying to save it. We would have been able to keep Eren and Zeke from coming into contact if you hadn't stepped in at last second and helped them."

"Magath. . ." Dymphna muttered in a hushed whisper, not wanting to hear it and it being the first thing that snapped her out of her dazed and focused mindset.

"I'm only repeating what I already told you, General, but nobody here wants to be an accessory to genocide. That's why we're all hiding out in the woods eating stew instead of celebrating in town." Hanji reminded, making Dymphna gulp, already knowing the next words to come out, like the back of her very own fucking hand.

"So you finally figured out who the good guys are, huh?" Magath broadly questioned, but it wasn't a question at all but rather a rude statement.

"Are you kidding me?" Jean questioned, an angry expression mixed with disgust making way onto his face quickly and easily, "You seriously think you're in the right? You're crazy. You people spent years trying to murder us all, and we're the bad guys 'cause we didn't just roll over and die? Screw that! We learned to fight like hell because the only other option we had was to let your Titans eat us all alive!"

"We found a way to survive, and now you're gonna call us devils for it?!" Jean angrily questioned, stepping forward a bit as he watched Magath drink a bottle of fine, Eldian wine before distancing it from his lips.

"That's right. You're exactly what we always thought you were. We let you fester for too long on Paradis. The world's about to pay for that mistake. You finally won your freedom, and we can all see what you're doing with it. What'd I miss?" Magath mocked, not an ounce of guilt ridden in his tone or on his features, prejudice replacing it with a mix of what he spoke the sentence for.

"Plenty . Not a word about your shock troops destroying Eren's home and making him watch his mother get eaten alive! That's what started this!" Jean listed, gritting his teeth. At that sentencing, it made Dymphna wish she could empathize but couldn't considering she couldn't feel that feeling. Wanting to avenge your parent.
