The teenagers enjoyed the cookout and a camp-out weekend at Max's trailer. Wendy warned the trio about what food Max Tennyson liked, though she was sure Kevin would bring actual food. She was right. Once Leo learned what kind of food Max was planning on serving, he declined to go. So it was just Adam, Bree, and Chase. Wendy helped Gwen with the table while Bree caught up with Ben. They had been busy, and it was hard for them to get a moment to themselves due to Krane. "I only had enough charge for one ray blast, but I knew I was faster than the..." Max stated that he had told a story to Adam and Chase, who were helping with the grill. When Gwen and Ben were 10 that summer, Wendy also tagged along because her parents were on an extended plumbing mission. It was a summer they never forgot.

Now, they had additional friends with them. Kevin was bringing over a cooler to the girls at the picnic table. "Having fun?" Gwen asked her boyfriend as she poured some water into cups. "Pros of camp-outs? Fresh air, barbecue burgers. Cons of camp-outs? Your grandpa Max's old plumber stories we've heard 10 times before." Kevin replied to Gwen's comment, which caused Wendy to look up from her task. "Has it seriously been 10 times?" Wendy questioned Kevin, who nodded at her. Kevin walked over to Max and the brothers, who wanted a burger. "You said you would tell a story about my dad." Kevin reminded Max as he went for the burger but was stopped by the spatula. "OW!" "You know, a story's a lot like barbecue squid -- can't rush either one," Max replied, which caused Chase to raise an eyebrow. Not at the barbeque squid comment but how quickly Max brushed off Kevin's statement about his dad.

Chase slipped over to the girls and helped them with some stuff they needed to do. "What's the deal with Kevin's dad?" Chase asked Gwen as he helped set the plates. He was killed on a mission; that's all we know," Gwen replied while Adam shouted something about Squid. Ben and Bree were walking to the table hand in hand when the ground started to shake. He wrapped his body around her to be her shield, while Chase did the same with Wendy. "Whoa. Feel that? Earthquake." Gwen said as she steadied the glasses that were on the table. Little did they know that Highbreeds were waking up below them, causing the earthquake. Since Adam, Bree, and Chase weren't familiar with alien food, Max did regular meat for the cookout. He didn't know if their system would go overdrive and didn't want to bother Donald. So, he played it safe.

"This is a regular burger, right?" Kevin asked after Max handed him the plate. Ben, to mess with him, replied. I see eyes and a beak in there. Is that okay?" A strange sound alerted Max, which caused something to happen. "I thought you liked weird food," Kevin remarked as the others ran over to see what was up with Max. A war-like cry came from Max before he knocked the grill over and fell face-first into the group. "GRANDPA?' Ben shouted as he was the first to check on him.

Ben and Kevin helped Max stand up after he woke up. "Are you sure you're okay?" Gwen asked her grandfather, who still looked a bit pale. "I'm fine. Thank. Just got a little dizzy for a second. Well, let's eat." Max explained as he tried to lighten the mood. "I can't. You dumped my burger." Kevin replied; this caused Wendy to smack him upside the head. "Max, how about you sit down? We can handle this." Bree said as Gwen helped him to the table. "You dumped the whole grill, remember?" Chase asked as he checked Max out for any injury.
