On the screen of a WDF Space Monitoring Agency device, a warning came up.

"Colossal object detected entering the Solar System. Anomaly expected to reach Earth in five years."

...

It was now the year 2226 Anno Domini. Using battle data and frames made from V1's insides, the WDF was able to create the next V-Model machine, V4. V4's were autonomous M.A.S.S. units controlled by the AI system V3, which was also mass-produced. They were equipped with upscaled versions of V1's original weaponry, along with the Quantum Break system.

As the years went by, V1 and Uri were separated, assigned to different posts. V1 was placed in charge of a new squadron, composed entirely of V4's. To support humanity's ventures into outer space, Uri was assigned to the WDF's Lunar Base.

Life had not been boring for V1, the WDF assigned V1's squadron new missions almost weekly. The mission's were not for naught, as the level of Void Particles in the Arctic and Pacific Red Zones had been observed going down, as more and more operations were conducted in the area.

V1 was in its office when it received a call from the WDF's commander. Having been relocated to Shelter One, V1 was in close proximity to the WDF's command.

"Staff Sergeant V1, you are expected to report to WDF High Command as soon as you receive this notice."

"Great, what do they want from me this time?" V1 wondered to itself as it strode down the pristine halls of Shelter One.

V1 gently opened the door. V1 was simply greeted by the WDF's General. It held up its normal arm in a salute, until it was dismissed by the General.

"V1, the WDF wanted to reward you for your actions over the last 5 years." He handed V1 a manilla folder. "Inside this, is proof that global concentrations of Void Particles have gone down by 74% ever since you and the V4s have been active in combat."

"Thank you sir, but what exactly is the reward?" Responded V1.

"We're promoting you to Master Sergeant. We expect great things from you."

"Sir? A two-rank increase is far too generous for me."

"Quit trying to humble yourself. Your work deserves it."

"Well... I-" V1 sighed. "Thank you, sir."

"You are dismissed."

"Yes Sir!"

V1 saluted and left the room, and headed to the direction of the shelter's main hangar.

The machine gazed up at all of the V4 models, checking over and making sure the machines were intact.

Once done with the checkup, V1 returned back to its office.

While watching the television in its room, the broadcast V1 was watching was replaced with a breaking news announcement from the WDF itself.

"This is a message to the entire human race. We may all be in danger once again. A few years ago, the WDF detected a massive celestial body entering the solar system. As of two hours ago, we received the first image of the body."

An image flashed on the screen. It was a gargantuan purplish-pink crystal.

"As you can see, this body is the same as the Void Crystal that pierced our planet and brought the initial invasion of Quarks to Earth. This crystal is currently just past the Asteroid Belt, but is estimated to collide with Earth within a week and a half. We urge all Shelters within the Crystal's predicted crash site to evacuate the citizens to nearby shelters, in preparation for the worst-case scenario. However, the WDF plans to set an absolute defense line by Mars and destroy it in a few days, before it reaches our atmosphere."
