DOMINIC'S STUDIO

wednesday
2pmi was standing outside of dominic's studio. the anxiety that i was feeling in my body was insane. i didn't even know if he would be in the studio now or not. i bit down on my lip, contemplating whether or not i should walk in. i couldn't back out. i didn't want to. but going into that studio, with him in there...it terrified the hell out of me. but i quickly gathered enough courage to walk into the building.
i opened the door to the building and walked inside and the first thing i noticed was how big the place was. the lobby had a dark aesthetic to it, and a nice receptionist desk in the corner across from an elevator. i slowly walked towards the desk taking notice of how elegant this place looked.
"hi, how may i help you?" the receptionist asked.
i gave her a soft smile. "i'm here for dominic fike's recording studio." i answered, and her eyes widened slightly in realization.
"oh, you must be jodie then." she said, and i nodded. she pushed a clip board towards me. "dominic said to have you sign this waiver form before you can go back there." she said, and i nodded and began reading it.
it was a basic agreement; don't reveal info to anyone, don't show anything for your social media, the generic stuff that they always include. after i finished signing the form, i handed it back to her.
"thank you," she said with a smile before she spoke up again. "the studio is the third door on your right, he's waiting for you inside." she added, and i nodded, saying a soft thank you before i began walking down the hall.
my heart thumped against my chest rapidly as i walked, my shoes hitting the ground with an occasional click. i took a deep breath, trying to calm myself.
finally i stood in front of the third door to my right. i exhaled softly before i raised my shaking hand and slowly opened the door.
once the door opened, i saw dominic sitting in a chair next to some equipment. his curly brown hair hung around his face. he hadn't noticed me yet as he began strumming his guitar.
i stayed still in the doorway, admiring the sight before me. the sunlight peeked through the window next to him, allowing his gorgeous facial features to stand out even more.
i cleared my throat. "what's up, dominic?" i said making my presence known.
dominic looked over at me, a smile appeared on his face once he saw me standing before him. his brown eyes seemed to light up. he quickly set his guitar down and stood up from his chair before he took a few steps towards me. "hey, you made it." he said with a smile, looking me over from head to toe.
"you thought i'd bail? i heard you guys needed me so obviously i had to come to the rescue." i said sarcastically.
dominic chuckled, a warm smile on his face as his eyes roamed over my features. "always the smartass," he responded with a chuckle and i rolled my eyes.
i shrugged, "they say some things never change."
"and apparently that's true," he said before he gestured to the chair next to him in front of all the equipment. "you ready to get to work?" he asked and i nodded.
i sat down in the chair, looking at all the mics and headphones, trying to ignore the fact that his eyes were on me, watching my every move.
"what song is it that i'm supposed to feature on?" i asked, trying to break the brief silence as i looked from the equipment over to dominic.
his lips curved into a sly smile, "ah i guess you don't get the privilege to know yet." he joked before he spoke again, "nah seriously though, i'll play you a little of the track and then you can tell me if you like it."
