LACI'S APARTMENT new york, new york july 9, 2024 tuesday 10pm
it was a quiet day, i decided to lay low and hang out with some of my friends. i found myself at laci's apartment, having a little party with her and marina. the three of us were sitting around the kitchen island, drinking and chatting.
"i'm just saying, it's kind of sexy that dominic beat the hell out of evan." laci said as she took a swig of her drink, an amused look on her face. her eyes were focused on me, waiting for a response.
i had just taken a sip from my drink when laci spoke and it took everything i had to not spit it out all over the counter. i ended up choking on the liquid and had to cough into my elbow. i shot laci a glare while marina snickered.
after the liquid left my windpipe, i looked back at laci with a playful glare. "god, you're so blunt..." i said but i couldn't help the smile that was forming on my lips. "but you're also not wrong. it showed how much he cares."
marina who was on her phone spoke up, "maybe not..." she said quietly.
my attention was immediately grabbed by marina's comment, my eyes darting over to her. laci looked over at her as well, both of us giving her a curious look.
"what do you mean?" i asked, raising an eyebrow at her.
"dominic fike and evan spotted at a bar in downtown new york, just tonight." she read off from her phone. "what are they doing at a bar together?"
my eyes widened in surprise at what marina read off. dominic and evan hanging out at a bar together didn't sound like a good combination.
"they're hanging out? seriously?" i said, looking between laci and marina. my thoughts began to rush through my head. why would dominic agree to go to a bar with evan?
"look." marina said as she handed the phone to me and i held the phone out for laci and i to both see.

i studied the photo seeing evan with a bright smile on his face as they walked through the bar. "i mean, they look like the best of friends." i said with a sigh.
laci's face looked like a mixture between surprise and annoyance. "why the hell would dominic want to go to a bar with evan? they're like enemies!" she said, shaking her head.
