i got up from my bed and walked down the steps, headed to the front door as someone knocked on the door. i was in sweats as i opened the door to see dominic holding flowers.

i laughed softly, "what's this?"

he shrugged. "this is because you haven't left your house since the club."

i sighed and walked father into my apartment, leaving the door open for him to walk in. "that's because everyone is talking about what happened." i said as i plopped down on the couch.

dominic walked inside, closing the door behind him. he made his way over to the couch, sitting down right next to me as he handed me the flowers.

he exhaled faintly, leaning against the back of the couch. "and what are they saying?" he asked, even though i know the answer would probably annoy him.

i set the flowers on the coffee table, running my fingers through my messy hair. i gave him an expression that said 'are you serious?'

"they're saying a bunch of different things. some of the news outlets are saying you're too violent and that you're a walking red flag. other outlets are saying evan deserved it and that this makes you more likeable." i said, a faint scoff leaving my lips.

dominic let out a scoff as well, rolling his eyes faintly. "i seriously could give less than two shits about what they have to say." he said bluntly, a slight irritation evident in his voice.

i let out a laugh at his comment, looking over at him. "yeah, i know. you never care about what the media says about you. that's one thing i like about you." i said, my eyes scanning his face for a moment. "think he'll press charges? i mean, you broke his wrist..."

dominic tilted his head, a smirk appearing on his lips, "he can press charges if he wants but i doubt they'll stick." he said bluntly, the smirk never leaving his face. his eyes were still showing a tinge of irritation but he was trying to not seem to bothered about the whole situation. he ran a hand through his hair, "besides, i think his career would be affected if he pressed charges. he'd look too sensitive and he can't really afford to look more sensitive than he already is."

i raised an eyebrow in amusement, a smile forming on my face at his response. "god, do you ever not give a perfect answer?" i said, shaking my head with a laugh.

he was right, evan's career would definitely suffer if he pressed charges. evan had a very delicate image when it came to the media.

dominic chuckled lowly at my comment, his smirk growing into a smile. "most of the time, no. i usually give a perfect answer." he said, a cocky expression on his face. he shifted a bit in his spot, his smile softening. he turned his body to look at me more directly. "seriously though, are you alright?" he asked, his voice softer now.

my expression softened faintly at his tone change, touched that he was so concerned. "yeah, i'm fine. honestly, it was more satisfying than annoying to see you beat evan's ass. he had it coming." i said, not being able to help the smirk that appeared on my lips.

dominic's lips formed into a smile again, "i know he did. but i didn't do it for me, i did it for you." he said, his voice now soft. his eyes were showing full concern now, his hand moving to grab mine and intertwine our fingers.

my heart nearly stopped at his words and the contact his hand made on mine. a flutter spread through my chest and a warmth formed in my cheeks. my mind began racing with thoughts of how sweet and caring this man was.

i took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart and thoughts. i moved slightly closer to him, my eyes still glued to his.

"how was florida?" i asked.

dominic's lips formed into a small smile again as he felt me move closer to him. his eyes softened even more as he looked at me, a twinge of surprise in them. he could tell he had an effect on my heart.

"florida was good. very hot but good." he responded, his head cocking to the side as a chuckle escaped his lips. "it was good to see family...not gonna lie, i kind of missed you." he added with a faint smirk.

the smirk on his lips only caused my heart to pound even faster in my chest. his smirk was dangerous, it never failed in getting my blood pumping. my cheeks started flushing faintly, flustered by how honest and sincere his words were.

i ran my thumb along the back of his hand as he interlocked our fingers. "i kinda missed you too." i said softly.
