i sat on marina's bed as we were having a sleepover at hers. "you mean to tell me that you haven't talked to dominic since tuesday?" she asked.
"yep." i said bluntly with a shrug, looking down at my cuticles.
it's been two whole days since tuesday and me and dominic had went radio silent. we've never gone this long without speaking. usually we would have made up by now and be hanging out normally. but this time felt different. we were both stubborn and were refusing to make the first move to fix things.
marina's eyes widened as she heard my response, she clearly thought things would have resolved by now. "jesus, how long are you two going to keep going like this?" she said, her voice a mixture of annoyance at the situation and concern.
i shrugged, "he can message me first."
marina rolled her eyes, not in an annoyed way, more in a 'you're being ridiculous' way.
"you're such a stubborn ass sometimes, you know that right?" she said as she crossed her arms and leaned her back against the headboard. "i mean isn't that why you guys didn't get back together for like ever...because you're both stubborn."
i nodded and looked at my phone, with a sigh i spoke again. "seems that's how we broke up too."
mariana raised her eyebrows. "broke up? you mean last time?" she asked.
i shook my head. "i mean this time, he just texted me." i said handing her my phone.

i handed my phone back to marina, unable to keep the agitation out of my expression. she seemed to notice that i was feeling upset now.
"jesus christ...you two are actually going to take a break?" she asked, clearly shocked that it had escalated to that.
