Jungkook did not know when he fell asleep beside Taehyung while sleeping on the floor.
He didn't wake up until someone shook him.
He flinched out of his sleep and stood up quickly to fix his clothes as he saw the nurse and doctor standing infront of him.
They might be there for Taehyung's daily checkup. Jungkook thought.
But that was not the case. The doctor was not checking up on Taehyung more like he was done checking.
"I am sorry." The doctor said.
Jungkook frowned, not understanding why the doctor said it.
"Why?" So Jungkook asked.
Before the doctor could reply Jungkook heard someone crying.
Not just someone. It was more than one.
He turned his head around and that's he noticed the presence of other people behind him.
It was Irene with the twins and Eunwoo a little away from her, sitting on the sofa at the corner of the room but he was crying, his face hiding in his palms.
"Why is he crying?" Jungkook asked.
"Jungkook-" Irene reached out to the aforementioned male, Taegguk and Taehannie hiding behind her. She was crying too.
"Why are you here? Why did you bring the kids here?" Jungkook couldn't understand what's happening around him.
"They begged me to take them to Taehyung. Taegguk wouldn't just stop crying s-so i had to. I couldn't leave Taehannie alone in the house so I brought her too but-" Irene paused looking down.
The silence was long, it had Jungkook getting more confused, "but what?"
The doctor coughed, "can you all please wait outside for awhile?"
"Why? No I'm jot leaving his side." Jungkook said.
"He may have left your side already." Jungkook heard Eunwoo speaking, he looked at the elder male and saw him looking back at him.
Jungkook studied Eunwoo's face for awhile. "What are you talking about?" He asked.
"Mr. Jeon, the patient is not responding anymore. We need to check some things to confirm that he is no more." The words did not register in Jungkook's head.
He felt like the ground moving under his feet as the words slowly started to sink in.
"Don't joke with me." Jungkook gritted his teeth.
"We don't joke about patient's death mr. Jeon." The doctor let out a sigh, "you may check the monitor to confirm it."
Jungkook abruptly turned his head towards the vital sign monitor and his heart nearly stopped beating seeing the lines straight and not moving in curves anymore.
His legs gave out.
"N-no this can not be happening. N-no!" Jungkook choked on a sob, whole body trembling in pain.
