(This will be a long one to make up for lost time)
As the days passed by, we were able to get a lot of things done. We could donate all the items we packed from the house and all the fresh food to a nearby food hub for the homeless. Once all that was done, Robin and I sold the house. Putting up that sign was challenging for both of us. For many different reasons, we had to let this special place go. This is the house that I grew up in, and it also became a new home and a safe space for Robin.
Once that was done, we spent our last days hanging out with Cas. Since we have a long trip ahead, Robin and I decided to spend our time inside rather than going out anywhere. Not a lot happened, but that's perfectly okay. We just talked, watched TV, had dinner, and played some games. And once the morning came, we packed our stuff into the car.
"You know, I'm going to miss you both," says Cas as they walk down the stone steps. "It felt great having some roommates."
"Aww, you're thinking about getting some company in your apartment now," Robin said with a smirk.
"No! Having you both in there was more than enough!" We all laughed at the quick change of mood. I can't blame Cas for not wanting a roommate any time soon, thanks to Robin and me. "But seriously though... what are the chances of us seeing each other again?" They asked with a slight frown. Robin and I stopped what we were doing and looked at Cas before turning to look at each other. We don't know if we will ever be available to come back and visit.
"Well... We don't really know ourselves, but we will try and visit when we can." I said with a smile while trying to lighten up the mood.
"We will?" Robin asked me. I turned my attention to her, glaring. "Yeah... Sure, whenever we can." We watched in silence as she went back to packing the stuff in the car.
"Sorry about her Cas," I said to them.
"It's ok, Ava. I can understand why she would say that," They said with a smile. "Even if you both can't visit, we'll still be in touch, right?"
"Yeah, whenever we're available."
We both stood in silence for a bit. This was an emotional moment, after all, but it didn't last long as Cas rushed towards me and gave me a big hug. I was surprised by this sudden action, but I quickly returned the hug. We stood still for a bit, allowing the emotions of the hug to sink in before pulling away.
"See you later, Cas," I said with a smile.
"See ya, Ava." As the goodbyes were said, I got into the car while Robin was ready for the drive. We both bid our farewell with a wave, and Robin drove off. Making this the start of our long journey to our new home.

After a couple of pit stops and long hours of driving, bathroom breaks, and occasionally bickering... Robin and I finally made it to the town. And I was surprised. I'm fully aware that Cas said that it was a small town, but I certainly wasn't expecting it to be this small. It feels more like a place to live in, not very suitable for work, let alone a business "Robin, we are in the right place?"
"Don't doubt my sense of direction, Ava. We're definitely in the right place." She said as she slowly drove down the road while looking out the window to see if she'd find a match of the building that was in the picture. I rolled down the window and did the same on my end. The search didn't last long, thankfully, as I spotted the place we were looking for.
