One, The Perfect Night

Sophie was scared. It was the summer between level five and six. She was all alone in the big house of Havenfield. Grady and Edaline had left that morning to find a Brontosaurus by the coast of Italy.
Creek.
Stranger noises were coming from everywhere and it made Sophie nervous. She tugged out an eyelash. She has tried to break that unique habit but she decided to just live with it.
Then she got an idea. Sophie pulled out her inparter and whispered "Keefe Sencen"
"Hey Foster...." He trailed off when he saw her face. "What is wrong?" He asked.
"So um.... I'm hearing strange noises. I know the Neverseen have been defeated and they can't hurt me. But I don't feel safe." She told him.
"Have you talked to Grady and Edaline?" Keefe asked.
"I....Well I can't." She told him.
"What do you mean? Are they okay?!" Keefe asked. After Keefe helped Sophie defeat the Neverseen Grady had been more accepting of Keefe hanging out with her. They became a kinda replacement mom and dad.
"They are in Italy." Sophie grumbled. When Keefe still looked scared for their safety she added "On a trip to find a Brontosaurus."
"Okay. I'll come over, Mrs. Stinkbottom can hang out with Ella." Keefe told her.
"Thanks." Sophie told him before she hung up.
Seconds later Keefe walked into her room. "Hey Foster. Let's...." He trailed off and clutched his stomach. "You can't throw all of these overwhelming feelings at me. It's not a warm welcome." Keefe said jokingly.
"I'm sorry," Sophie told him.
Creek.
"Wow that is eerie." Keefe said sitting gently on Sophie's bed. He set Mrs. Stinkbottom next to Ella on Sophie's lap.
He grabbed her hand and sent blue, green, and gold breezes into her mind. It calmed he a lot. "Thanks Keefe." Sophie said once she could think what to say.
"Any time. I love the feeling of not needing to puke!" He replied.
Sophie thought he was going to say I love you. So she was disappointed.
Keefe started to stroke her hair. In a little less then an hour she fell asleep.
