They swam in silence. Thinking only about the story.
Back on board, they went to their cabins to change. Patrick didn't see Calli the rest of the night or the following morning.Around noon, he decided to bring her lunch. He knocked on her door. "Calli? Can we talk?"
"Come in." Her voice was cold and distant.
"I brought you something to eat." He set the tray down on the nightstand.
She sat quietly on the bed brushing her hair.
He sat down beside her. "Want to talk about it?"
She set the brush down and looked at her hands. "Everything that we are is all his fault. How are you not angry?"
"Well, not everything."
She glared at him.
"Don't get me wrong, what happened was horrible, but some things don't make sense with that story."
She raised an eyebrow. "Like what?"
He rested his head in his hand. "Like the part that said the siren had the ability to call storms. Irella"
"Izella." She corrected.
"Right. Izella. She was going to give it to"
"Sirus." She interjected.
He tilted his head towards her and smiled. "You're really good with names!"
She shrugged her shoulder.
"Anyway. So how come sirens can't call storms but I can? In the end, everything she didn't want to happen happened. It just doesn't make sense."
Calli thought for a long moment before responding. "You're right. Why would you have the ability that she was supposed to keep? I bet your, uh, Calypso would know. She's been around a lot longer than I have. We should also ask her about where your necklace came from."
"That's a good idea." He nodded towards the bowl of hot seafood soup. "You should probably eat that before it gets cold.""Thanks Puc." She nudged his shoulder.
"Anytime."

The days seemed to fly by as they headed towards Calypso's island. The thought of seeing them again made his mind a mess. As much as he wished he was ready to confront his mother, he couldn't help but feel apprehension building up inside. He needed to clear the air and let her explain her choices. Give them another chance.
He was too harsh towards his sister. Just the thought of her brought on frustration and anger. He knew he was jealous of the life she had. But that wasn't her choice. She was innocent in this matter. She didn't know any better. All that she knew she had learned from her mother. Their mother.
A cool hand rested on his shoulder. "Hey." Calliope whispered.
"Calli." He breathed out a sigh of relief. Just being near her brightened his mood.
"What are you doing out here?"
"Just trying to clear my head."
"Thinking about your, uh Calypso and Lyra?"
He studied her eyes. He couldn't help but noticed how she had been trying to be careful not to talk about them. And the few times she did, she would quickly correct her words. He reached up a tucked her hair behind her ear. "You know me too well."
