No one's POV:
—Grim exhaled shakily, swaying on his paws as he weakly said, "There, ya happy? How's that for you?"

"Simply incredible," Crowley ignored the cat as he spoke. "A magicless human able to bend a monster to her will... amazing! You, Miss Kanroji, have the makings of a beast master! However..." He grumbled something incoherent to himself.

You turned your eyes to Grim, realizing that he would probably be forced to leave the school premises. He must have realized this too, because he looked towards his tiny paws dejectedly.

"Uhm, Crowley-sama..." You meekly interjected the man's muttering. "Could Grim stay with me?"

The monster looked up at you, his eyes shining. His mouth gaped open a couple of centimeters, and he let out a quiet "Woah..."

Crowley said nothing, waiting for you to explain your reason for asking such a question. Even through his mask, you could feel that he raised his eyebrow.

"W-what if the ghosts come back?" You tried, and failed, to justify your request with the first thing you could think of.

"Hm, I suppose I can't deny that... very well," The crow man sighed.

Grim happily leaped onto your shoulder, rubbing his cheek against yours in celebration.

"However!" The headmaster added, causing the two of you to stop. "I will not allow someone who wasn't selected by the mirror, especially a monster, to enroll at this academy." He shifted his words to be directed at you. "Neither will you, Miss Kanroji. As the mirror had stated, there is no magic within you, and I will not allow you to freeload until you return to your homeland.

"Mrah..." Grim meowed disappointedly.

"Wait until I finish speaking, little cat. As the owner of the dark mirror, it is partially my responsibility that you were brought here, so you may stay within this building for no cost. However, your living expenses will be paid for by you. What to do...?" He thought for a solid second. "Ah, yes!"

Your eyebrows furrowed as you smiled nervously. "What are you going to have me do?" You prayed that it wasn't something weird.

I wish Gyomei was here, I could've prayed with him for my safety, You thought.

"Relax, Miss Kanroji. You will simply be doing some odd jobs around the campus." He looked around the dorm and said, "You seem to be good with a broom, so I'll have the both of you be janitors. You may use the library to find a way home, but only after school hours. I am truly kind!"

"But I wanna be a student and wear a cool uniform, not some lame janitor!" Grim complained.

You frowned. "Be grateful, Grim. He isn't kicking you out of the school, and he is letting you stay with me."

Crowley nodded. "I can arrange for you to be removed from the premises permanently, if you would desire," He threatened.

Grim's ears shot up. "Urgh, fine! Just don't kick me out again..."
