I arrive at James's house, and I see James outside. "James, what's going on?" I say
"Dude, Carl is inside. I managed to slip out unnoticed," James says, his voice tinged with a hint of relief.
"Seriously, what was he doing?" I say
"He has Molly," James says
"Wait here. I'll take care of this problem, "I say, my voice urgent with the need for action.
"Jack, wait, we have to be smart about this," James says
"Why we could take care of Carl right now?" I say
"Well, he could know where my friend Nate is," James says
"It's been years since you last saw him. He could be dead for all I know," I say
"I heard him talking about him while I was sneaking out," James says
"Alright, what do you suggest?" I say
"We do what he says," James says
"No way have you lost your mind?" I say
"Trust me, I know what I'm doing," James says
"Alright, I trust you. Let's do this," I say
We walk inside, and we see Carl inside with Molly. "you finally showed up," Carl says
"What do you want? Let Molly go," James says
"James, why are you calling me by my first name?" Molly says
"Come on, tell her the truth she deserves to know," Carl says
"I found out that you're not my real mom. I was going to tell you, I promise, but I got sidetracked," James says
"I don't believe you. Stop lying," Molly says
"It's true I have a brother and everything," James says
"James is telling the truth. I've seen him," I say
"No, it is true. I need to leave," Molly says, leaving the house.
"Looks like she couldn't handle the truth," Carl says
"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't go feral on you right now," I say
"I have your friend Nate with me. If you want him back, you'll do what I say," Carl says
"Jack, we have to do this," James says, his voice filled with determination.
"What are your demands?" I say
"You will willingly surrender yourself to me, and I'll take you right to him," Carl says
"Fine, we'll do it," James says, his tone echoing our shared resolve.
"James, are you certain you want to do this?" I say
"Yeah, I'm sure," James says
"Alright, Carl, do what you want," I say
"Good, glad you two are finally making a wise decision," Carl says
"So, are you going to take us?" I say
"Yes, come with me," Carl says, leaving the house.
"James, I hope you know what you're doing," I say
"I got a plan. Just trust me," James says
"I still can't believe we're doing this just to save your friend Nate," I say
"We're not just going to save him. We're going to save everyone we can," James says, his eyes filled with determination.
"Alright then," I say
We leave the house, and Carl takes us to a van. "Get in the back," Carl says
We get into the back of the van. "I got a bad feeling about this," I say
"Why do you think he's lying?" James says
"I don't know; it's just that something feels off about all this," I say.
"Maybe you're right, but we're in too deep. We have to commit to this," James says
The van starts moving. "Yeah, but if things don't go to plan, I'll just go feral if you want me to," I say
"Are you sure you can control yourself? Remember what happened back in the forest. You're still new to this," James says
"Yeah, I can trust me," I say
We start discussing how we will take down Carl, our voices hushed in the back of the van as we plan our next move.
