Not so friendly Reunion

Phantom and I arrive at Jack's house. "I wonder why he asked me to come here," I say

"Be ready for anything," Phantom says

We enter the house, and we see Mitch with Jack. "there you are," Jack says

"Why is Mitch here? I thought he was dead," I say, my disbelief echoing in the room.

"I couldn't bring myself to do it," Jack says

"I wanted to apologize for everything I put you through," Mitch says

"I don't believe you. You're up to something," I say, my suspicion hanging heavy in the air.

"You tried to attack us last time, so I don't trust you at all," Phantom says

"Jack, can we talk in private for a minute?" I say

"Sure," Jack says

I pull Jack to the side. "Dude, what are you doing? Trusting Mitch is a Terrible Idea," I say

"I get that, but maybe he's changed after Carl betrayed him," Jack says

"Maybe, but something feels off about all this," I say

"Just give him a chance for me, please," Jack says

"I can't. Mitch has done too much to me." I say

"James, please," Jack says

"I'm sorry. I can't forgive him for everything he did," I say

"If we weren't sorry, why would he come here to apologize?" Jack says

"You're naive, Jack Phantom, and I will leave once you get some sense. Come talk to me," I say, going back.

"We should leave, brother," Phantom says

"I agree. Let's go," I say

Phantom and I leave the house. "I can't believe Jack trusts Mitch again after everything he put us and even Jack through," Phantom says

"Same, let's get back to the arcade," I say

"Sounds good to me," Phantom says

I get a text from Nate: "James, you need to get back home now."

"Why, what's going on?" I text

"Just get home and watch the news, trust me," Nate texts.

"Is something wrong, brother?" Phantom says

"We need to head home. Nate just texted me," I say

"Alright, let's go," Phantom says

Phantom and I rush home, and after a few minutes, we arrive home and rush inside, and we see Clyde inside. "James, you need to see this," Clyde says

"Clyde, why are you here?" I say

"We saw the news, and I wanted to make sure you're alright," Clyde says

"What news?" I say

"Look at this," Clyde says, turning on the TV.

I looked at the TV, and I saw Carl, who was giving an interview at the building we attacked last night. "I was struck here by my son James and his friend Jack. If you see them bring them to me, they must pay for what they've done to me."

"Oh my god, Jack's in danger. We need to warn him about this," I say

"I'll get Jack. You need to skip out of town as soon as possible," Clyde says,

"I'll come with you, Clyde. We'll be back soon," Phantom says

"Let's go," Clyde says as they leave the house.

I head to my room and start packing the essentials. "This is so not how I imagined spending my summer," I think.

I look at my phone and see a text from Wren: "Hey, I saw the news. I know he's lying. You can stay with me and my family. I'll send you the address."

"Thank you. I'll see you soon," I text

"Yeah, for sure," Wren says

A few minutes Cldye and Phantom come back with Jack. "James, I made a terrible mistake," Jack says

"I told you this was a bad idea, and you should've listened to me," I say

"Look, can we worry about that later? We need to get out of town," Jack says

"I'm just about finished packing," I say

"I'll bring my car here, then we can get out of here," Jack says

"No, they'll have people on the lookout for you two," Clyde says

"I'll form a portal, and you'll be there instantly," Phantom says

"What about you? Will you come with me?" I say

"No, I must stay back to ensure things are safe here. I know you can handle yourself, brother," Phantom says

"Don't forget about me. I got your back," Jack says

"I usually don't allow my pack members to leave independently, but I know you'll be fine. Just stay safe, alright" Clyde says

"I will, alpha thanks for everything," Jack says

"You're welcome," Clyde says

"Alright, I'll make the portal," Phantom says, forming a portal.

"Thanks, Phantom, for being so great," Jack says

"Yeah, I guess you're not a bad brother after all," I say

"Thank you, and sorry for being terrible to you before you knew about us," Phantom says

"Alright, it's time to go," I say

"We'll be back when things cool down around here," Jack says

"Yeah, we will," I say

I grab my luggage, and we go through the portal. And we end up in front of Wren's house. "well, this is it. Here we go," Jack says

(A/N: And that's another story that has been done. Honestly, it was pretty hard to write this story because I free-styled it, and that's why some chapters took longer than others. Anyway, I'll probably start posting chapters of the new book soon. See you guys in the following author's note)
