"Good morning." Minji smiled to Haerin as she woke up, the sick girl hasn't fully recovered yet, that's why they had to be excused again. "Good morning~ aren't you going to school?" Haerin furrowed her eyebrows.
"I can't go since you're sick, someone has to take care of you, and I want it to be me." Minji's remark made Haerin's heart flutter with happiness, she loves it when Minji takes care of her.
"Are you sure? We still have lessons, one of us has to catch up so they can teach the other." Haerin giggled.
"Mm-mm, we've got friends and profs to tell us what we missed, besides, we're the top students, they have to give us lessons and also, your reason is very valid."
"I guess that's true, I don't wanna be a burden to you though."
"Or do you just not want me around?"
"What? No!"
"I'm just kidding, hey, it's okay, I'll be here to take care of you so you don't have to worry."
"Okay, thank you, Minji."
...
Haerin
Minji has been by my side all day, she'd occassionally ask me what I want or need, and honestly, it was really sweet of her. I was thinking if I should give us a try?
"You're so pretty."
"I-I... thank you, you too." It was the first time I heard her say that to me, and it felt really good.
"Hey?" Minji tilted her head with a smile.
"Yes?"
"I just want you to know that I mean it. I don't know why all these years that we've been onto each other's throats fighting for the top spot, I didn't even notice how beautiful you are, until now.
You're the most beautiful girl I have ever seen, sometimes I wonder if you're the devil in disguise. Your beauty is just too good to be true, like how are you even real? After weeks of processing my feelings for you, I've come to think that you're too good for me.
But I want you.
I need you.
I love you."
Woah, that was really surprising of her. Is she a hopeless romantic or something? Just kidding.
I can sense her genuine feelings towards me, I'm starting to like her too. Actually, I've liked her earlier than she liked me.
"I really appreciate that, Min. I really do, but, I just don't know if I'm ready yet. And I'm sorry if you feel like I wasn't caring to what you said about me, but I do. I don't know how to express myself through words, but my heart beats fast, and my breath gets heavy, and everything just feels so happy. All off those are for you."
"Then, do you think we could give it us a try? We'll take it slow, don't worry. But if you're truly not ready yet, then I will wait.
I know I don't deserve you, but I'm willing to make myself better to deserve you."
I felt myself shiver from her words. I so want to kiss her right now, too bad I'm sick. Ugh, stupid bacteria.
"If that's what you're willing to do, then okay." I replied, taking a deep breath while waiting for her response.
"D-does that mean I can ask you out?"
"Yes."
"Yes!!!"
She hugged me tight enough to show how happy she was and I was on her arms smiling to my ears. I feel so safe when I'm in her arms, it's like all of my favorite things combined into one.
"Thank you for giving me a chance, Haerin-ah! I promise I'll- I'll do my best to win your heart!"
You already did, idiot.
"You're welcome, I can't wait to get better so I can kiss you already." I can't even keep it to myself anymore.
All I wanted right now... was her and no one else.
...
Minji
"And that's why I'm here to take care of you." I teased, making her chuckle and show her beautiful smile.
God, she's enchanting.
After some time, Hanni sent us the lessons that we missed. I told Haerin that I would write notes for the both of us while she rest herself.
"Hanni just sent me the lessons, I'll write them for you and for me. You watch your favorite show here while I write on this table, okay?"
"Okay, thank you." Haerin nodded her head and watched me prepare some snacks for her while she watches.
"You comfy in there?" I asked. "Mhm! I love the Lorax! Thanks, bear." My heart fluttered at the nickname spoken. She's darn tootin' cute.
As I wrote our lessons, I kept stealing glances at Haerin. Oh why would God create someone as beautiful as you? It's danger to my heart, goodness!
*BZZT BZZZT*
My phone buzzed and someone had texted me.
"Is Haerin feeling better now? You better take good care of her, friend. Or I won't tell her parents to give you their blessing."
It was Hyein.
"Yes, she's getting better and I'm taking care of her well. And what blessing are you even talking about?" That girl is teasing again.
"Well you know, once you decide to marry her and all. You're gonna have to ask for her parents' blessings, oh and to us too! You gotta show us you deserve my precious bestfriend alright?!"
"We haven't even graduated yet..."
"Don't care! We don't want her to marry someone else so it's gonna be you. It should be you because she wants it to be you anyway."
She wants me to be her wife...?
Yes please. Yes ma'am.
I'm feeling pressured just by thinking of our wedding. What am I even saying?! She's not even my girlfriend...
Yet.
"Yeah, whatever. Bye." With that, I continued writing the lessons while the little cat watched quietly in her spot.
