Haerin's POV:

The sleek glass building loomed before me, a monument to corporate ambition. It was intimidating, even for someone as career-driven as me. But I had to do this. I needed this job.

The interview process for the CEO's secretary position had been grueling. They put me through mental gymnastics, testing my efficiency, my composure, my knowledge of etiquette.

But I'd aced it all, showcasing my skills and experience. Now, all I had to do was impress the CEO himself.

As I stepped into the luxurious, minimalist office, my eyes were drawn to the man behind the massive desk.

He was handsome, commanding, and a whirlwind of energy. I knew it was him. The CEO, Mr. Y/N.

But a flicker of something else besides professional awe passed through me. A wave of familiarity, a prickling sensation at the back of my neck. It was faint, but it was there. And it scared me.

"Ms. Kang, I assume?"

He was looking at me, his dark eyes intense. Those eyes... they held a strange familiarity, a depth that resonated with a hidden part of my memory. But how?

"Yes, Mr. L/n. It's a pleasure to finally meet you." I extended my hand, forcing myself to focus on the interview.

He smiled, a warm, inviting smile that dispelled the icy aura surrounding him. "The pleasure is all mine. Please, have a seat."

The interview was a blur of questions and answers. But I found myself struggling to focus on his words.

The more I looked at him, the stronger the feeling of déjà vu grew. It was like a suppressed memory, trying to claw its way to the surface.

He was intelligent, sharp, and incredibly charismatic. He spoke with passion about his vision for the company, his eyes sparkling with ambition. I couldn't help but be drawn in by his energy.

"So, Ms. Kang, why should I choose you for this role?" He asked, leaning back in his chair, his gaze piercing.

"I'm efficient, organized, and I have a proven track record of success. More than anything, I'm eager to learn and contribute to the company's growth," I said, keeping my voice even, my eyes unwavering.

"And you're confident you can handle the demanding workload of my schedule?" His voice was low, a hint of teasing in his tone.

"I thrive under pressure," I replied, meeting his gaze. "And I'm always up for a challenge."

He studied me for a long moment, his expression unreadable. Then, a slow smile crept onto his lips.

"You seem like a perfect fit, Ms. Kang. Welcome aboard."

Y/N's POV:

Haerin. The name felt like a whisper from a forgotten dream. I'd known her once, loved her once. Back when we were college sweethearts, filled with dreams and a youthful sense of invincibility.

But that was a lifetime ago. Or at least it felt like it.

We'd broken up, acrimonious and heartbroken, both convinced the other was the reason for our pain.

The past had become a ghost, haunting me with regrets I couldn't shake.

And now, here she was, sitting across from me, a stranger in familiar clothes. She was beautiful, even more so than I remembered.

Her eyes still held that spark of mischief, her smile the same radiant sunrise I used to wake up to.

But the flicker of recognition in her eyes was mirrored in my own. Was she feeling it too? The echo of our shared past, a memory we both desperately tried to forget?
