"Yeah? Well maybe you need to try a little harder! Ever thought I'd that? Seems like I'm always the one doing everything in this relationship." You argued your boyfriend Ennui.

The lanky purple emotion rolled his eyes at what you said. He was the emotion of boredom. Of course he wasn't gonna be to hyped up over anything.

He didn't bother  to try and explain that, as that was his personality and you should except him for that.

"See? All you do is role your eyes at everything I have to say! Can't think of a better response? Well I can! We need a break from each other!" You yelled at him, red with anger.

He looked up at you, still silent, but his eyes opened a little wider, wondering if you meant what you said.

"A break?" He finally answered apathetically, with his arms crossed.

"Yes! A break!" You answered back.

"Um how are we gonna get a break from each other if we live together and headquarters isn't really big enough for us not to see each other." Ennui answered back sarcastically.

You groaned a frustrated groan. "Just leave me alone for a while ok?" You told him.

"Whatever you want." He answered back unenthusiastically.

You stormed off past him and went to go be the with the other emotion.

Ennui was angry at the point to, just not as much as you were. He then signed and pulled out his phone.

It had been around a week now and you were doing just fine without Ennui.

He would sit on the couch and you would stay with the other emotions. When any of them would ask what was going on between you and Ennui, you would simply tell them, "Don't worry about it!"

So none of them ever questioned you about it again.

After a few more days, you felt as though you were doing fine without Ennui, but he soon realized he was not doing as well as he hoped.

He was a very bored and uninterested emotion which was why he needed you. You made things fun for him. You would make him get off his phone. You would watch movies with him, you were exactly what he needed.

He watched you with the other emotion, it made him feel something. Something very unfamiliar to him: Jealousy.

It was especially bad when he would see you being kind and helping embarrassment. Or laughing and joking with anger. Or even calming fear down. It made him realize just how much he wanted you back.

So on that day, Ennui had had enough. He called your name quietly and motioned you to go to his room.

You were talking with joy at the time so you pushed him off, telling him to leave you alone. But joy insisted that you go talk to him. She thought maybe it would make things better. So after a little bit of convincing, you finally gave in and walked over to him.

He closed the door behind you guys.

"What do you want Ennui?" You asked him.

He stayed silent for a moment, then walked a little closer and looked you in the eyes.
