"Why is the teacher doing this?! Don't we have enough homework already?!" You asked the other emotions, biting your lip and furrowing your eyebrows.
You were one of Riley's emotions. You were Stress. You always kept Riley on her toes when it came to even the smallest inconvenience.
The teacher continued to pile up the homework on Riley. She handed out three two paragraph papers to write, a few work sheets, and she wanted the kids to finish their project on endangered animals. And this was all to be done by next week.
"How are we gonna get this all this done?! We're gonna be gone half the week!" You slammed your hands done on the console and pressed a bunch of buttons causing a few (F/C) memory balls to fall and hit the ones beside them.
All the other emotions started to agree with you. They started pressing buttons all console.
Fear touched the console over his fear of not getting everything done.
Anxiety pressed the buttons in fear of doing everything wrong and getting a bad grade.
Anger pulled a lever, thinking about how stupid the teacher was for giving us all the homework.
Disgust tapped a few buttons at the thought of homework in general.
Envy crawled on top and stepped on a few buttons thinking about the other kids in other grades who didn't have to do all this homework.
And sadness pressed a button, making Riley want to cry over everything.
All different kinds of colored memory balls rolled down and hit each other with a 'Clank'

After the school day, Riley went home and joy tried her best to take Riley's mind off things, she was just really trying to keep you away from the console.
I stood by the memory's balls and grabbed the ones that you had caused, you looked up and realized that most of her memories from today had been because of you and most of them were (F/C).
"Oh no! Look what I've done! Most of Riley's memory's from today are because of me! Oh! I've put so much stress on her today!" You yelled to joy.
"Oh don't worry about it! How about you....uhhhh...." Joy thought for a second.
"How about you go and ask sadness what the best manuals to read are, huh? Doesn't that sounds fun!"joy asked, but before you could answer, she pushed you off to go find sadness.

Later that night, when it was time for Riley to go to sleep, you asked if you could take the night shift.
"Umm (Y/N), I don't think that's such a good idea-" You cut joy off.
"No Joy! I think it's best if I take it tonight." You said as you were already pressing buttons on the console turning it (F/C).
Anxiety suggested I staying with you, but joy pulled her back.
"But (Y/N), maybe I should take tonight?" She asked. You didn't answer back.
"Joy, I'll take care of this." Joy looked over to see the tall, purple Ennui staring at her, his head tilting over, and his hair falling to the side.
Joy eventually gave in and went to bed with all the other emotions.
"Ok Riley, I think it's best if we think about all the homework but never end up do any of it." You said to yourself as you pressed a few buttons.
Memories of the homework ran threw her head like crazy, you even brought up the thought of how hard the homework would be. You were just as overwhelmed as you were making her.
While you continued to run thoughts of homework and stress through her head, you heard button press and the console turned dark purple.
You looked back to see your boyfriend, Ennui, laying down on the couch like usual with his phone in hand.
"Ennui! Shouldn't you be asleep with all the others?" You asked him.
"Not while your up acting like a total stress case." He said not even looking up from his phone.
"I'm not! I'm just uhhh...." You thought for a second, you were acting a little hysterical.
"Acting like a stress case?" Ennui asked.
You sighed and then laughed a little, "You know me." You said.
You then looked back at the console and reminded Riley that she had to write three papers.
You began to twirl your hair and bite your nails at the thought of three papers.
"You're not helping her you know." Ennui said.
"I'm just reminding her." You replied and pressed a few more buttons.
Then the console turned back to purple, you looked at Ennui again.
"Stop. I'm working the night shift." You reminded him.
You then heard a thud and fabric scraping noises. You then felt two hands grab your shoulders. It was of course, Ennui and he was pulling you back.
"excusez-moi." He said and pressed and button on the console, making Riley relax and think, "Who's cares about homework anyways?"
Ennui then looked back at you and grabbed your hand and led you over to the couch.
You sat down and he flipped on top of you.

He then grabbed his phone and began looking at it again.
"Ennui, I have to get up." You told him.
"No." He replied.
"It's my turn for nightshift tho." You reminded him.
"I've already taken care of that." He said.
You wanted to push him off of you, and it would've been very easy to do so, but you realized you weren't helping her and she seemed so much more relaxed after Ennui stepped in.
He then sat up next to you and slowly grabbed the blanket that was laying beside him and threw it over you both.
"I think you need to take a break." He said.
"Yeah, you're right. I'm exhausted." You told him and laid your head on his shoulder.
"Let's watch a movie then. You can choose, I don't care what we watch." He said in his French accent, almost hard to understand.
You smiled and kissed his cheek.
"Thank you Ennui." You said and laid back down.
He smiled a small smile and put his arm around you while you both watched a movie together.
