Douma was literally overwhelmed by how his love spoiled him by buying him some clothes for he had 'lost' everything in the fire that destroyed his temple. He remained humble for it's his love that is purchasing these lovely gifts for him. The money was coming from the increased sales from the time she was 'missing'.

"Ah, Kotoha-chan do I look handsome in this?" Kotoha laughs as Douma does a twirl, wearing a fedora hat and wearing more formal wear of the modern age. His fashion had been the same since the beginning only replacing his clothes when they worn out or were damaged in battle. So being able to explore new trends of this era was nice.

Especially if his love thought he looked dashing or if he chose something more risqué he was rewarded her blush.

"Oi, stop acting like a dumbass and pick already." Hakuji was with them, Koyuki at his side, placing a fedora on his head and both ladies laughed.

"You should both get them," Kotoha says, Koyuki taking a picture with only Douma posing and Hakuji facepalming.

One thing Douma would find odd was after Kotoha's first appointment she receives this pregnancy tag.

"It's a maternity badge, Douma. Didn't you see them at your shrine?" Douma had to think for a moment, hugging his songbird as he thought.

"No...remember how I told you it was a long way from town? I don't think any expecting mother wants to hike to my shrine." Kotoha nods, briefly trying to recall who had taken her from the shrine that night of the fire. She can only remember faint memories before waking up in a medical room later being transferred over to Tokyo.

Douma hadn't asked yet and she was grateful because she didn't want to explain it.

"I understand that." She let her head rest on his shoulder as he gives her a cap and some sunglasses. He tucks his newly trimmed hair under his fedora.

She'll miss the length stretch down his back but he did it once he saw a barber shop and the styles they were offering. Luckily, most of the hair in front was the same.

Overall, Douma was adjusting to life in the city much better than she was expecting.

Social media would bring many theories as photos spread.

One sneaky fan took a blurred picture of Douma with his arm around Kotoha.

'How long have they been dating?'

Already the buzz was at an all-time high, even worse as a lot of new fans clashed with the fanbase of the Birds of Paradise.

'Who cares? It's going to be over soon!'

That had some fights going on till someone shared another photo. One where Douma's hand had moved to reveal something that had everyone in shock.

'OI, OI, OI IS THAT WHAT I THINK IT IS?'

Some international fans who had been following were confused culture-wise.

'Context?'

Locals luckily were quick to explain.

'IT'S A MATERNITY BADGE!'

Someone would post an edit of average male vs Chad Douma and it had a few people laughing but quickly going back to the situation at hand.

'LADYBIRD HAS AN EGG IN THE OVEN?'

'KOTOHA IS PREGGO?!?'

Some were ticked off.

'Is she only with him because he got her pregnant?'

Soon more theories were made.

Kentaro would throw his empty can of beer, joining the pile on the floor of his apartment.

He was seething, not believing what was before him.

Riko and Hanako both cried as the theories and pictures reached them. They couldn't believe they missed their chance to steal Kotoha's lover. He was so exotic compared to others they had partnered with.

They can only pray something would go wrong with the relationship.

Maki would click her pen and sigh, reading the article and drinking the rest of her coffee.

She was going to need the energy.

Douma had left his songbird that evening, saying he was going to explore a bit more of Tokyo. Kotoha would only nod and with his new phone, she punched in Hakuji's and her number into his contacts.

Adorable on how well she treats him as the one that had lost 'everything' when he quite literally gained everything. He had his love, a child, and his best buddy back.

Oh, and there was one more thing.

He smiles as a black van pulls up, slowing down and a man would look at him before gesturing for him to come in.

He lets himself be taken because why not.

Douma would love a challenge in the form of the yakuza.

Ah.
.
..
...
He wasn't expecting this.

Douma had been led by the man before he left. He was now in a condo overlooking the bright cityscape of Tokyo. Quite the sight but it left few places for him to hunt.

"You live...How?" Douma smiles as he approaches the bed, seeing those familiar eyes glare at him, knowing his secret.

"Oh, that doesn't matter now, does it? How are you feeling?"

His eyes twinkle in comparison to the unamused eyes of the one who is hooked up to a heart monitor.

"Muzan-sama."

The man who once held the title of demon lord was a weak incarnation now. His breathing labored and only slowed down when his fury calmed down.

"You found the Lilly didn't you." Douma would grin and let his rank flash in his eyes.

"Of course, I used my resources." Muzan felt his blood pressure rise at that. He had tried finding the Lilly to help with his deteriorating health but couldn't find it anywhere.

Douma raises his arm and rakes his claws down his wrist.

Blood comes forth and Muzan narrows his eyes on it.

"What do you want?" Douma would grin and say his demands.

A shift in power would come that night with the rebirth of the true progenitor of demons.

Though Douma can gladly say he now has a fake ID and a source of income.

It was also a nostalgic moment when after his first meal, Muzan would knock his jaw off with the strength of a lower moon.

NEW PLAYER HAS ENTERED, OH THE CHAOS THE SLAYERS WILL HAVE TO FACE!

Now power scaling-wise, Douma is still much more powerful than anyone else.
