Dorinda walked into Dr Loveland's office, instantly seeing Mattie on the couch.
"what the hell is she doing here?" Dorinda folded her arms as she walked in.
"Dorinda you haven't talked to me in weeks.. this is the only way I can get you to communicate" Mattie sniffled
Dorinda chuckled before speaking "here we go with the crocodile tears"
"Dorinda why don't you have a seat" Dr Loveland suggested, Dorinda sat further down from Mattie on the couch.
"what exactly am I here for?" Dorinda asked with a puzzled expression.
"Mattie has something to express to you, Mattie" Dr Loveland looked
Mattie broke down in tears as she spoke "Dorinda I'm.. I'm sorry baby, I knew" she cried harder.
"I knew.. and I didn't do anything, Instead I..I blamed you for your fathers death"
Dorinda rolled her eyes "what made you finally come to realization?"
"I didn't know what to do with that information Dorinda.. I'm your mother, I'm suppose to protect you and I.. I didn't" she cried
"Dorinda is it true you were recently assaulted again?" Dr Loveland pulled out her notebook.
"mhm, nothing new" Dorinda shrugged
"I'm sorry to hear that" She clicked her pen "how does that make you feel?"
"the same.. nobody cares, nobody listens and nobody understands" she shrugged once again "so I don't give a damn, it can keep happening for all I care"
"Dorinda don't say that" Mattie looked
"Mama don't tell me what I say, you just now coming to the fact I'm not the reason daddy is gone" Dorinda scrunched her face up
Mattie quickly got quiet "exactly, is that all Dr Loveland? I would like to go I have nothing else to say" Dorinda stood up
Dr Loveland nodded, Dorinda quickly walked out the room and downstairs to her car.
Dorinda drove away, pulling up to a house she hadn't been in since her teenage years.
She quickly got out the car, standing in front of the house "just do it Dorinda" she mumbled to herself.
Dorinda knocked on the door, looking down at her shoes until someone came to the door.
"who the fuck- Dorinda?" Marsha opened the door
"Hey Marsh.." Dorinda threw her hands in her back pocket, Marsha hugged her tightly
"Come on in girl! I haven't seen you in years" she let Dorinda in.
Dorinda walked into the fancy decorative house, Marsha's living room was covered in black and gold.
"it's pretty in here" Dorinda looked around "thanks" Marsha smiled
