Severus Pov.

I watched as Potter picked at his breakfast and as Black and Lupin and Pettigrew shot looks each other and worried looks at Potter. When the post came, I saw Potter opening one of the three he received. Black and Pettigrew was reading over his shoulder and looked uneasy and Black was scowling slightly.

Potter said something in a non obvious voice and handed Lupin the letter. Pettigrew looked at the three and then at the envelopes on the table. Potter looked at Lily and then me to finally realize I was already looking at him with a blank face.

Before he had opened the letter, I noticed a small detail, he wiped his hand over his face and I seen a bracelet peek out from the sleeve of his robes. When he put his hand down and opened the letter, he left the other two unopened and alone. Now he is heading out with the other two disappearing in his robes and the other three right behind him.

I looked at Lily and saw that she had noticed the group of four leaving as well, but she was going to the library after breakfast to get some light reading done before we all left for summer. She frowned a little and looked at me. We wasn't going to follow the Marauders right at this minute.

I nod my head and look down at the remains of my breakfast and finish it, then go into the library so I can check if the potions book Lucius recommended. After I found the book, I surveyed the library. Evan Rosier was with Barty Crouch Jr. and Regulus Black talking in hushed tones and writing on parchment.

I nod my head at the younger Black when he looked up and left to go to Madame Prince to check out the book. I seen Lupin checking out a small book and then leave with a content looking Pettigrew following him. Weird that Black and Potter wasn't with them but oh well. Its none of my business.

I check out the book and assure Madame Prince that I will finish the book and return it and if I don't finish it I'll return it before I leave Hogwarts for the summer. I walk out, and was mostly in my head, when I heard Gilderoy Lockhart's voice. I look up and see the male holding Lupin and Pettigrew up. The git was absolutely full of himself.

I roll my eyes and say, cutting Lockhart's sentence off about how he met the very same author of the book Lupin was holding, "Lupin, Pettigrew, Potter and Black is searching for you everywhere. Lockhart, you better let the gits go before Potter jinxs you all the way into the Forbidden Forest."

He licks his lips and pats Lupin on the shoulder awkwardly, "You ought to get on your way now Remus, Peter. I'll let the author know you'd like a personally signed copy." He scurried off quickly when we heard footsteps coming down the hall. Just a couple first years. Lupin sighed in relief and wiped at his shoulder desperately.

"Thank you for that, Snape. Was Prongs and Padfoot actually looking for us? I could've swore I told we was going to the library." He looked genuine enough. He looked over to Pettigrew and he nodded that they had told the other two.

"Don't mention it. Also, no, I just said that because I know Lockhart is bloody annoying." I say, preparing to walk away, to my dorm. The faster I get away from the two the more likely I won't be here if and when Potter and Black show.

"Ah, Snape? Can you and Miss Evans meet us by the lake, after lunch?" I stop and turned somewhat to see Lupins face to see if this is a trick. What?

"Why would we do that?" I was trying to be very cautious and suspicious about what the marauders could possibly want from Lily and I.

"Just do it for all of our sakes ,Snape." Pettigrew said and with that , they walked away. I went to go tell Lily. One thing we absolutely was not expecting was a verbal apology by the four of them and the two unopened envelopes that turned out to be invitations to the Potters Summer Annual Gala.
