James pov.

"This is going to be so embarrassing." Peter said as we skip lunch to go sit by the lake.

"Well we had it coming. Mrs. Potter— Effie, does not tolerate bullying or teasing." Remus said, looking up from his book. "Lockhart was saying how he met the author of my book and obviously lying through his teeth about it. Surprisingly, Snape ran him off with the both of you as an excuse."

I paused in tossing the stone I had in my hand. "Really? What'd he say?" Looking at Remus now, I tossed the stone gently to the ground. Sirius was leaning on Remus and Peter was studding a roughly heart shaped stone with false interest.

"Yeah, Rem, what'd Sni–Snape say?" Sirius corrected himself when Remus gave him a look. I grinned at Peter and shook my head.

"He said that you two were searching for us and you -James- would jinx Lockhart all the way to the Forbidden Forest if we didn't get going soon."

"Oh ,for the love of Merlin, that'd suck. He'd still be lying his trousers off if Snape or Pads and I hadn't got there. Not that you can't handle the git yourselves." I say quickly, followed by a sheepish grin.

"Yeah. Maybe we was too harsh on him. He honestly does not seem that bad."

"I suppose so. Since the majority of my family was in the Slytherin house, I can definitely say he is one of the very few better ones." Sirius said picking up a stone and shaping it into a star with his wand. I noticed he engraved his initials on it and slipped it in Remus' bag without him noticing.

Peter had started sputtering and I looked over to him and crouched down. "Its okay, Peter, just say what you have to say. We're all friends here. We knew each other from day one."

"W-what if he ends up being a dark wizard like so many other Slytherins? We'll just be proved wrong if we say that."

"Well, Peter that happens some times.—"I was cut off by Remus.

"Would you say that if he was in Gryffindor? Or Hufflepuff?" Remus cut out, scowling softy, we all knew he hated it when people blamed the house one is in. "Hell, I could have been put in Ravenclaw for all anyone knew. Would that make me any different? Plus you know what I am. There's a chance for a student of any house to go dark."

He looked pained to say anything about being a werewolf. It was clear knowledge that werewolf's was dark creatures. But Remus isn't. He never will be.

Sirius leaned into Remus even more, offering silent comfort. I smile mentally, they'd be a nice couple if they were homosexual.

"I mean maybe. We taunted him the moment we saw him. But maybe he isn't all that bad. " Peter tried wrapping his head around it and Remus smiled a little.

"Anyone up for going to the Quidditch field?" I suggested, hoping to lighten the grim mood. Also to get Remus and Peter on a broom finally.

"Yeah, nope. I would like to keep my feet firmly on the ground, thank you very much." Remus said and Sirius laughed.

"Come on, it's amazing. You feel so free up in the air like that. We will catch you both before you can fall." Sirius tried persuading.

"Or die trying." Remus grumbled. Peter was nervously fighting around.

"What about you, Peter? You wanna go fly with us?" I said looking at him fully with a genuine smile.

"I mean I would but Evans and Snape is walking towards us right now." My smile dropped and I turned around to see them as well. Sirius stopped trying to persuade Remus to fly, and we all stood up to be at least formal for this.

"Miss Evans, Snape." I take a deep breath and clear my throat softly and push away my pride. "We would like to apologize for the past few years and I hope you can accept this apology gift by being invited to the Potters Annual Summer Gala." I was keenly aware about how Snape was studying me.

"We realize what we did is wrong and the four of us sincerely apologize and will appreciate it if we can all put it behind us." Remus said, looking both of them in the eye.

"It was very rude of us to torment you both from the very start and immensely inappropriate. We are very sorry." Peter said shifting behind me slightly.

"Yes, we apologize to the both of you for any and every prank, spell, jinx and hex we have ever sent your ways. I hope you can forgive all of us."

I drew the invitations out of my robes and hand them over to the two.
