DECEMBER 2023

IN REAL LIFE

olivia sat in her hotel room as her makeup was being done for the percy jackson premiere. she was on the phone with adrian who was also getting ready.

"you know, you never told me what that post was about," adrian said, looking away from her eyelashes and shifting her gaze to olivia on her phone.

"hm?" olivia hummed, careful not to move her lips as her makeup artist applied lip liner.

"the one from like a month ago, where you posted the taylor swift lyrics," adrian looked back at her eyelashes, carefully applying mascara.

olivia was immensely grateful that adrian looked away so she couldn't see the uneasy look that settled onto her face.

"oh, i was just remembering what happened with walker earlier in the year. the songs brought back some, uh, bad feelings," she lied.

"you sure?" adrian let out a small chuckle.

"yeah. hey, i got to go change. i'll see you at the premiere, yeah?" olivia shuffled around, hovering her finger right above the end call button.

"yeah, i'll-" olivia cut adrian off by hanging up, grimacing once she realized she was still talking.

"oops," she mumbled, getting up from her seat.

there probably wasn't a single premiere that olivia went to where she wasn't nervous. the nerves were natural. the screaming, the camera flashes, everything. it was all overwhelming.

typically, she would think of things that she found as peaceful. but, for once in her life, she felt as if she didn't even know what peace was.

ever since that day where walker just left; when he walked out without any hesitation. since then, olivia had felt as if peace was some word spoken in a foreign language. it was unknown. she couldn't understand what peace truly meant. it made no sense to her.
