Annika bent towards Shivaay's face and placed a long kiss on his hair and moved back.

"I don't even let these nightmares bother you anymore. I hate them for troubling you. I hate myself for troubling you today. I'm sorry. Please forgive me," she whispered with guilt and regret. Her eyes held fear remembering yesterday's incident and today's panic attack.

She sat at the edge of the bed, holding his hand.

Thinking he might need more space if he moved in his sleep, she decided to shift to the other side of the bed. As she started to release her grip on his palm for that purpose, but he held it tightly, as if he was unwilling to let her go. She realized that releasing his hold and moving to the other side might disturb his sleep, so she chose to stay where she was. She leaned in close to his hand and softly kissed the back of it without waking him. Then, she settled herself on the ground beside the bed to give him more space. Holding his hand close to her face, she rested her cheek on the bed and watched his serene face -It was his face that gave her solace from the battles she had been fighting with the swirling thoughts in her mind all night.

It was around 6:45, Annika noticed Shivaay's eyes slowly fluttering open. He looked still in a sleepy state, as his movements looked slow. Annika can also feel his hold on her hand loosening a little bit. She thought to take it as a chance and move from here before he wakes up completely as she remembered how he was worried about her sleep yesterday and also if he sees her here, he will think that she was awake the entire night and will get worried again. When she was slowly slipping her hand away from his hold, he increased his grip again, making her stop her efforts. She sighed, carefully yet quickly moved from the ground, and settled herself on the bed. By sitting on bed, she can give some reason, but if he finds her on the ground, he is going to ask her a thousand questions. She thought and looked at his face and saw him blinking his eyes a few times.

Annika smiled softly, with her gaze never leaving his face. As he opened his eyes, half-closed, his eyes came across her face. A small, sleepy smile formed on his lips.

"Good morning, sunshine," she whispered with a soft and soothing voice.

"Good morning," he mumbled with a groggy voice, and he closed his eyes again briefly. His mind registered she is really here when he squeezed her hand lightly. He opened his eyes a little wide realising that and looked at her face with a frown.

He sat on the bed and looked at her with narrowed eyes. Annika hid her chuckle the entire time seeing his expressions.

"What are you doing here?" he asked with a confused frown.

"Staring at my sunshine, do you have any problem?" she asked, raising her eyebrows and giving him a playful smile.

Shivaay looked at her weirdly, but she can see his ears turning red at that and chuckled.

"Should I scold the sunshine which is peeping from curtains into our room for making my sunshine's ears red?" Annika asked, raising her eyebrows up and down teasingly, making his ears turn even redder.

'Why I think she is flirting with me?' Shivaay thought, staring at her with narrowed eyes.

"Don't you think you are sounding so dramatic today?" Shivaay asked with a frown, hiding his amusement.

"It's all due to some billu's company," Annika said with a tease and playfulness. He narrowed his eyes at her, and his eyes became more narrowed, remembering something.

"Wait! What are you doing in this room, and where is Rudy?" Shivaay asked, looking around the room.

"Don't tell me you are in this room the entire night," Shivaay inquired, looking at her with a serious face. Annika noticed how his eyes held worry.
