The rest of class was uneventful after the Balto incident. Your eyes glance around as you take a step outside the door alongside the file of other students, who groan and complain. Your vision settles on a familiar pink-haired girl. Mari. Before you can consider going over to her, you spot a certain werewolf nearby. Now you understand.
It's obvious Mari is yelling at Balto upon closer inspection. You can't hear what she's saying, but with the brunet's annoyed expression, you can decipher that it's some sort of lecture. You send Mari your condolences, having to deal with Balto is like dealing with a second, more vocal Aaron. You're on the brink of turning elsewhere, but you feel a breeze. Breeze? Inside?
"Due to your acknowledgment, you rewrote the script of destiny."
Where have you heard that before? Your mind wanders back to yesterday and it suddenly clicks. In the gym, after Travis mentioned Dante! You don't have enough time to ponder as the bell rings you out of your trance. Your (E/C) meet Mari's pink ones. You give each other a brief nod. You'll discuss this later.
Your mind can't stop puzzling over the last few hours. You know that some of the interactions you have had haven't happened in the series, at least not that you're aware of. Then again, it's unlikely that every single interaction you have can be canon since many months and years have been skipped in the show. Your body isn't going to just pass out during those times until the next canonical event.
At least you hope it won't.
You turn the corner as your eyebrows furrow. Actually, the series lasts multiple years, it goes through the character's high school, college, young, and late adult years. Irene said that you had to fix the ending, but which one is she referring to? You'd think high school since that's where we are right now, but what if she means all the way to Emerald Secret? Are you and Mari going to be stuck here for years? What happens when you get back? Are you going to be dead-
You feel your heart start to race, thudding loudly in your chest as these thoughts swirl your head. A wave of dizziness washes over you and your vision blurs slightly. The world around you starts to feel distant and surreal as you stumble forward into the classroom. Your hand clamps down on the door as you struggle to catch your breath as if it's suddenly there's not enough air. You shake your head and focus on the classroom in front of you. The groups of students and...You spot Aphmau staring at you, a flicker of concern crosses across her face. You give her a reassuring smile, despite your current state. You need to pull yourself together for now. It's....This isn't the place.
